It went from2 km away to the edge of our urbanization in around 3-4 minutes, we have a toll road high above the back of where we live, and it bridged that 300 metre gap in seconds, we drove out through 10 foot flames in black smoke, grabbing as many people as we could fit into the car on the way.
It's crazy, I've trawled the English news channels and nobody seems to have picked up on it, there will be many dead, countless people left homeless, including many ex-pats and holidaymakers, the main body of the fire now spreads across 35-40km, from Coin to Istan, there's rumours that Marbella city centre is gone.
I've heard people speak of near death experiences, and how thankful you are after, I can't shake the shock (hence I'm wide awake, writing on a football forum, everyone's asleep, or unaware..).
All my mates here are now accounted for, we're not the only ones to have lost our home, and in an awful way that's a bit comforting, but where the city starts tomorrow, how bad it is, the casualty list, well, we won't know till daybreak.
