How many of you have experienced these calls?

I love to play along completely wasting their time by pretending to be a complete idiot who cannot do the simplest task on a computer. Then, when they ask to take control of my PC, I say "Ok but first may I have your address, phone number and email address?" and they always hang up.

I figure the longer I keep them hanging on it will keep them from running their scam on some other poor sap.

Well done - I do the same thing -helps if you're settled with a nice drink ( & having had a few !) and the phone is on loud speaker.

And as for junk mail - Those pre-paid return envelopes can be quite useful for picking up dog sh1t - and it's so easy to confuse dog sh1t bins and post boxes!
 
I want this computer call. Then pretend to worry about virus' and say it must be down to all the kiddie porn I watch etc. See what kind of reply I get <ok>
 
Change your location, everyone assumes you are a glory hunter Saints fan from Plymouth.............. And i will stop bringing attention to it
 
I had one a couple of weeks ago - they said that they were from Microsoft, and I said that I was doing everything they told me to, but I wasn't. After a few minutes, I said 'hold on, I've got a message from Microsoft here' and then pretty much just abused them until they hung up the phone. I must say, it was quite enjoyable <laugh>

Thanks for this tip, is it OK if i use cat poo though as I don't come across much dog poo in my garden. Loads of cats though, the bastards.
 
Next time talk talk or some other cold caller rings, pretend to get off on it and ask them what they are wearing etc............. I don t do this i am attempting to invent a comedic scenario just to join in
 
What i do for cold calling is pretend i am muten deaf, i keep saying you will have to speak up, had one bloke shouting is head off at me for about three minutes, for me to replay Pardon what did you say..

Another time i recived a call, once they stop speaking i replay with "Day oh" most of them are so thick they carry on once they stop again i return with "Day-ay-ay-o" they normaly go silent then so i give them the full vocal.

Daylight come and me wan' go home
Day, me say day, me say day, me say day
Me say day, me say day-ay-ay-o
Daylight come and me wan' go home
 
I had a guy call me...really strong indian accent....and he told me I had a virus on my PC...

I told him to go **** himself and never call here again
