Also, Micah Richards was born in Brum but grew up in Leeds and played for Leeds schools.

Paul Reaney was a way way better RB than Mel Sterland and Emlyn was born in Barrow in Cumbria.

I'm not in a position to compare them, so I'm happy to bow to the wrinkly vote. :-)

Apologies re Emlyn. He was overrated anyway.

Ha I've bitten again. Emlyn was a great player, played right across the back line for Liverpool and filled in in midfield. Souness put him in his all time best played with eleven t'other week on Sky.

They say Reaney was one of the few full backs who had George Best's number.

Can you put one together for Leicestershire?

Probably not, bit difficult because there is only one decent sized club. Difficult to know where each player is born because they usually either play for us or move to other sides who match their ability/ambitions.

Being in my early twenties I've not heard of many players past the mid nineties from Leicestershire.

I suppose the obvious ones are Gary Lineker, Peter Shilton, Dion Dublin, Emile Heskey and Chris Kirkland.

After that you're struggling (and I was in the first place).
