Team Yorkshire

Regarding who you would play.... It could only be the house of York v the house of Lancaster.....

Losing captain to end up under a car park in Leicester.....

If you're going to be condemned to an eternity in Leicester, dead and under a car park is probably the best way to it.

Think Cloughies two European Cups secures the managers job tho

My husband suggests another possibility who was born a miners son in Barnsley and finished his football career coaching part-timers and working at a Butlins holiday camp.
His managerial career saw him in Iraq, Sweden, Italy and England and his International honours were as below.

1948-Olympic Gold. 1952- Olympic Bronze.

1950- World Cup- 3rd place. 1958- World Cup- Runner-up.

In his native county he played for Sheffield United and Rotherham and outside had spells with Mansfield,Bury and Aldershot.

Febbos will know him as his portrait hangs proudly at the home of the Swedish Football Association.

Can we make a team made up of players from Yorkshire, using the same boundaries the cricket used?

Will England's biggest County produce England's greatest players?

I'll kick it off with;

7.Kevin Keegan.

Thought Keegan was born in Scunny?

Nah, he's a Donny lad.

But you have reminded me that I had completely forgotten to put him in my team! Now I'd go...

Gordon Banks

Paul Reaney
Jonathan Woodgate
Paul Madeley
Terry Cooper

David Batty
Deano
Len Shackleton

Kevin Keegan
Tommy Taylor
Brian Clough

Aaron Lennon and James Milner are both Leeds boys, aren't they? Cameron Jerome and Frazier Campbell are Hudderfielders, and I'm pretty sure Fabian Delph is also from the wrong side of the pennines, too. ;)<ok>
