O'Neill possibly? The way I see it now is that's one less relegation place for the rest of us to worry about. They're shooting themselves in the foot here. Unless they plan on getting Dougie Freedman back. It was his team really that got them promoted and he's not having a great time of it at Bolton at the moment.
 
The fans never really accepted Holloway, so it's not a big surprise. However, it does look like a poor decision - how many managerial changes work in a situation like Palace's?
 
Can't see what else they could have done, awful start to the season, just lost 4-1 at home to a side notoriously bad away from home. Holloway won't be able to attract the quality they need in January, so it makes sense to get a bigger name in.
 
Tis a shame I like a manager like him who wears his heart on his sleeve. But it's a bit like Oneil at Sunderland once the spark had gone.

I like what he said when asked 'That the Fulham defeat was like a kick in the teeth'
He replied 'No it was a bit lower than that'
But then he did have a go at us for singing 'Can we play you every week'. Guess that stung a bit.

Holloway seemed doubly despondent after the game and I wonder if Steve Parsh had given him warning signs beforehand. Saying that partly because Tony Pulis was commentating on 5Live at the weekend and very clearly indicated that he wouldn't be an unemplyed manager for much longer.
 
By the sound of things, it was Holloway's decision and the chairman tried to talk him into staying. I agree with others, it's a shame that he's gone: quite apart from always being good value in an interview, he seems like a decent bloke. I think Palace came up with a realistic attitude that there was a good chance they would go straight down again. They've not mortgaged their future on staying up, so whoever they get in, they'll be okay in the long-term. As I've said before, I've always had a soft spot for Palace, so I hope they don't have a miserable time of the next few months. I was delighted that we stuffed them, mind.
