Good news that Kebe is out! We should defo go for extra pace out wide. Harte must be close to 40yo by now!
Yeah but I want to see the former two get a run out and we'll need some fresh legs to extend our lead, you can never trust our defence! Davis on to be more defensively solid, assuming we're winning.
Adkins has to start thinking about player rotation - does not need to be wholesale, but Muyuka maybe should get a runout against Reading and give Puncheon a well-earned rest. How to fit Jay-rod in the side playing 4-4-1-1 is a harder decision unless you decide to rest Lambert... not a happy option but Reading do not have alot of pace in the back-four, so Jay might be a good choice to start that game. Could look at rotating Davis for Morgan, but Morgan has been pretty good this season. We have a poor defence and certainly back-up on the bench - so we are stuck with what we have. To summarise, we could look to start Reading with Ray-rod and Muyuka and think about subbing Morgan if the game is going well early in the second half.
Shorey has replaced Harte at LB - but he's hardly Usain Bolt either. (Although, like Harte, his dead ball delivery isn't half bad).
All this talk about resting players. The players have a week's rest from the Liverpool game before playing Reading. I expect an unchanged side to be named by Adkins. If we were going to rest/rotate players it should have been against Norwich or Liverpool. Especially with two weeks between the Reading and Sunderland games.
We need to win this game. Whilst too early to claim any game is the be all and end all of the season, losing this game will make things very difficult for us. We are still hanging on...the gap must not get bigger.
Very true Fran. Still think there is more pressure on Reading though. In my mind we owe them a beating after last season so I'm praying for a good win!
