Whatever happens don't play Rodriguez on the wing, I think we have learnt by now he isn't a winger. He is Lambert's replacement so when he places it should be up front.
As NA and his entire coaching staff see Mayuka in training vitually everyday, they must all feel is is either not ready or simply not good enough to get a game so why is it that everyone on this forum seem to think he is going to be the panacia for our troubles having only seen him in a couple of substitute camio's?
Fair point DL. I don't think we are calling him the messiah though just might give us something different and freshen things up a bit!
Thing is Rodriguez and Mayuka haven't been given a chance. People going on about maybe Adkins doesn't rate Mayuka because he see's him in training. But training is nothing like playing a match?.
No reason why he shouldn't be able to play wide as part of an aggressive front 3. He has the pace and the skill and his interplay is pretty good. Worked pretty well against Spurs with Rodriguez left and Mayuka right. He's just a very different player to Lallana or Puncheon and we need to change the shape if we're going to play him wide.
I know that, but since we have changed from 4-3-3 to 4-4-1-1 we have looked far better don't you think?.
Do we not want a manager to read the game, see the form of the players, spot the opposition weaknesses on the day before deciding what substitutions to make?
