Hammond gets loads of stick, bit I like him. he isn't creative or a top goalscorer but he does loads of dirty work. Without the likes of Hammond in a team the flair players wouldn't get given the ball to do their magic. If he is picked by Nigel then keep him captain.

Anyone heard of a bloke called Nobby Styles? He wasn't the best, but quite important in 66

Agree with this, I don't understand the Hammond dislike. Deano does a lot of grafting in the centre midfield and the majority of the stuff he does goes unoticed as it is subtle such as bring the ball down when it has been in the air for a few passes and releasing it along the floor. If you watch him when he is off the ball he is constantly looking over his shoulder to find the next best possible option so he is reading the game before it happens which is the sign of a good player.
 
If we're playing Hammond, then keep him as captain. Lallana may be good technically, but we don't know if he can rise to become a leader. Fonte/Schneiderlin should be a vice-captain. I prefer central players as leaders because it's easier for them to engage with everyone...
