That won't solve the problems of inequality between the sectors and also that is easier said than done with the lack of jobs being advertised.
If you work for the council for 20 years and save your money, you could buy a dingy, not sure what you could call it though.
I think you are right. Now more tnan ever there is a desperate need in our society for Fascism. Britain (minus all of Ireland) should be the front runners in this. The Irish may wish to join us but they left the lights on for the Nazi's during World War II so they can go **** themselves. This will be a more socially acceptable for of Fascism and will prove a vote winner. Quite right the public sector are going on strike. Enough is enough. We demand a better future.
I love these threads where private sector workers get all wound up about public sector pay/hours/retirement. What's stopping you changing jobs? Why not become a teacher in the first place? Both my parents were teachers and trust me I don't think they thought their job was easy. In some schools the kids are ok but imagine a classroom of 30+ kids shouting and answering back. ****ing nightmare. And if they do their jobs badly they get ****loads of grief from parents/their school.
What inequalities? What do you think it's like in the public sector? The worst and poorest paid jobs I've ever had were in the public sector where you get treated like ****e and poorly paid. Yeah, there may be a few civil servants and the like raking it in but how does that differ from the private sector? Both have their advantages and disadvantages but both are being ****ed. All they're trying to do is protect themselves from the savage cuts brought about as a result of greed in the PRIVATE banking industry.
Stop being selfish and see the bigger picture of how the Public sector sucks the wealth out of the country. Get them to **** now
The only thing I demand is more equality between the sectors and a reduction in the over reliance on the Public Sector.
Suck the wealth out of this country? By earning a salary here (which in most cases isn't that high) and spending it in this country? Yep that's definitely sucking the wealth out of it
So the banks were publicly owned when the whole industry went tits up and took the country down with them?
Bullshit. The huge deficit isn't a direct consequence of bailing out the banks. It's caused in part by the fact that we now have a bigger public sector than private. All the while EVERY working person (bar me) get's clobbered with Tax and NI while the EMPLOYERS are now paying 13% NI contributions! It's a ****ing disgrace. [NSFW][NSFW][NSFW][NSFW][NSFW][NSFW][/NSFW][/NSFW][/NSFW][/NSFW][/NSFW][/NSFW]
That would mean the average salary going UP in the public sector. So you're happy to pay more taxes for that then?
Yes and I knew you would the thick twat to fall for it Christ man you are so gullible. I've had more intelligent conversations with dog turds. Now off you go for your after lucnch tug sonny.
So if the competition is fierce, then the people the council will employ will be very talented, so deserving a higher salary than yourself if you can't get a position there. So they're incompetent and they get paid too much, but you can't get a job there?
I have worked in the public sector for 27 years and my salary is a lot less than people I know in the private sector. Everyone complaining about the pay and benefits within the public sector should take a long hard look at the pay scales and the percentage of people who are earning more that 25k per year. Only a small percentage of the public sector earn more than 40k per year. Those are the people who are misleading the public on wages and benefits. I took my job in the public sector in the full knowledge that i would be paid less but my reasoning was that if i lived long enough I could enjoy my retirment and not be a burden on the tax payer by claiming benefits and by the way i pay £40.00 per month for my pension.
