Also linked with Marc Roberts from Barnsley and Poyet, who is a free agent. He was at West Ham and is Gus Poyet's son.

If Roberts is good why did we not get him at the sametime we were looking at Alfie?

Ask yourself why he hasn't got a club, not even a lower league club, it has to be one of 2 things, he is a greedy bastard or he is not good enough, he certainly wasn't at west ham, I suppose he is only 21 I suppose a few games in the 23's to see how he goes.

The mentality of the club has never ever up graded from lower league status in all the seasons we have been in the premiership. You see championship clubs paying more for players than we do as we are stuck in a time warp.... If we get linked with two players that play in the same position we are after then we dont go for the best we go for the cheapest and that has been our downfall....What we are good at is selling players if we can make a profit without worrying about how much selling the player will weaken the side. We never put the club status first if we can make a few bob.......This attitude has gone on long enough and if we want to challenge for a European place and win cups we need to change our ethos and enter the premiership mode and pay the going rate for players who we really need instead of going cheaper and buying an unsuitable player, Also stop selling our best players if they are on a contract and say NO for once we need them....

We have often gone for players that have something to prove, therefore many may not make it. We also look to those who are running down contracts , so Narsingh and Olson come to mind, still a risk because if they were that good they would have been looked after. These tactics along with going to cheaper markets such as Spain have got us to where we are. Will it be enough in future time will tell!

I think our problem was manager stability and I also think we may have fixed that with Bradley out and Clement in . I think we have a reasonable team as is . Fernandez and Mawson with VDH ready will work well . Naughton and Olsson also . Cork ,Carroll and Siggy with Britton , Fer , Ki and Fulton is good IMO .
Narsingh , Routledge , Montero and Barrow are ok . Llorente up front is great . One thing I don't want to happen is another 15 million Baston fiasco , we are not the kinda club that can endure to many of those . All my eggs are in Clements basket , convinced he can save us with what we have now that Bradley is gone , with the ": American " drama in tow .PS , maybe we can recall Gomis ... 13 goals in 21 appearences (whistling )

Deal done according to this. Ayew to us and Taylor to Villa in a swap deal <party>

I really hope so - I'm just happy that I won't have to worry about Neil Taylor being in the team.

Worrying few sentences on Ayew though - "bench warmer" - "Villa could never get the best out of Ayew, who played at a much lower tempo than the rest of the Villa team"

Still - he's away at the African Nations so he could get injured before he gets back - it seems the norm for us.

As he's in Africa with Ghana at the moment how is he going to have a medical and can the paperwork be completed before the deadline tomorrow. I assume because he is already in this country he will not need a work permit but as he is moving to a Welsh club will he need fresh international clearance. Also do we need another player who has an attitude problem and is inconsistent for both club and country.

I think the positives of getting rid of Taylor outweigh all of the concerns over Ayew.

Tbh I think he'll do a decent job.

I still think Mawson and Fernandez will be a good partnership and I thought Fernandez looked as though he was coming back to form against Liverpool. Occasional positional decision lets him down but not the first to do that in my time watching the Swans. Tatey had one lapse of concentration in virtually every game for us but he was still a good player.
