You didn't miss much, speculation based on not very much, other than wishful thinking, and that was about all.
Maybe he's saying it to put others off while he gathers the pennies?
Basically the rumours involve a Chinese and an American consortium. But confidentiality clauses are making it impossible to validate these rumours. Meaning there is a 100% chance these rumours are bollocks.

Well the American rumor is probably bollocks because I am pretty sure that I am the source for that. Basically there is a Northern California group based out of Silicon Valley that is trying to buy an English team according to our local sports reporters. The news has only given really vague info on who is in the group, when they want to buy and at what stage they are in the process. Some people in the group are at least partial owners in at least one of our local professional teams so the Kings, Warriors, 49ers, Earthquakes, Giants, Raiders, A's, Republic, Monarchs or the Sharks. They have said though that they were looking at a team that wasn't in the PL. I have basically mentioned it every time that Burnsy has said some mysterious group has contacted us about purchasing the team but I don't think anyone beyond me has tied them as a possibility to us.

I feel a bit sorry for Burnsy - he gets the sort of stick that a big name pundit might expect, but in reality he is a wage slave presenter on a tiny local radio station and only part time on the football side of things. He freely admits that he isn't a football pro and given the limited resources available to him I think he does at least as well as could be expected. Give the guy a break!

There is absolutely no need for him to talk the utter bollocks he does on a commentary, he's there to watch and talk about the football, regardless of what he thinks of the quality, not to talk about pies and booze. If he doesn't know that much about football, maybe he should stop recycling **** rumours or making out he's in the know. It's embarrassing and just makes him look like a twat.
He does at least as much as he can get away with and does not deserve a break at all.
About the best thing I can think to say about him is he isn't Gollum or Swan.
****ing hell it's local radio, what do you expect? Listen to some of the other commentaries around the country some time, they're terrible. The Leicester one was ****ing awful and the York one isn't much better. Burns isn't perfect, but he knows a lot more than most other local commentators and the bits about colours of players boots and pies and all that are just running gags. Seriously, lighten up.
Was in the car whilst the QPR game was on, pretty sure Burnsy said that there's one American consortium and two Chinese consortiums interested and that one of the Chinese consortiums is fronted by Paul Duffen who was at the game yesterday. Think he also said that things are at the due diligence stage.

I hope that it's true and that it pays dividends. For all the good that the Allam's have done for our club they have effortlessly and shamelessly wasted all of the goodwill that they would have undoubtedly held if not for the very well documented mistakes that they've made, and lies that they've told.

It's the 'due diligence' claim that make this likely to be bollocks, it's highly unlikely that more than one organisation is conducting due dilligence at the same time.
Normally, due dilligence is done once an agreement has been reached and is done simply to make sure that the numbers match those on which the agreement has been based.
It's basically just a final check, not something you do before making an offer.
