That's all it is worth. Mike missed the boat. And he simply cannot afford to wait this out. He'd take us down again and the debt to carry that would come from lenders. In short, he'd **** us and himself so badly, it isn't worth playing the waiting game.
still though, if they just put a bid in, even if that’s just £250m say. At least what Ashley’s response to that is, they’ll know where they stand and negotiations can start and hopefully come to a resolution. It’s like me going to buy a house, sign paper work etc, without even putting an offer in. I’d want to put a bid in as soon as I possibly could to see what type of price we’d be looking at conclusively. Not waste my time and effort to then not even put a bid in. Honestly, since 2007, have we once seen on SSN “group makes bid for Newcastle” all it ever is “interest, talks ongoing” that’s why I remain so sceptical. I bet these Saudis could crack a fart out and journalists would suggest the fart has suggested buying Newcastle. Trying to make stories from breadcrumbs.
not how it works... basically the bid comes right at the end by which time a price has been agreed prior. This price may have changed in light of the current situation. This could be a major issue if they dont agree.
I get that but why is there constant reports stating “Ashley still waiting for bid” everytime I see that I just think it’s all a load of ****e. Ashley’s probably on his sun lounger drinking blue lagoons laughing at how he’ll be having the fans fooled again. It’s not coincidental that everytime something happens publicly with Ashley, these stories come out. The first time maybe, but it happens time after time. It’s purely just to take the limelight off Ashley being a ponce.
that's an old report still being brandished around since the last leak, but it may simply be the truth in that hes waiting on the bid .. If he's waiting on a bid it's right at the last stage , so it's somewhat positive imo. ask yourself why not one of the 4 parties dont just say its nonsense?
That "waiting on a bid" ALWAYS circulates from Ryder/Chronicle, who are really beholden to NUFC for news. It's a fallback, meant to keep things at a distance and to allow Ashley to keep his powder dry. If the club isn't sold, it's "see? No bid". But in reality the bid, which would be the legally binding offer, is the last stage. There can only be an official bid if there's money, and that's what has to be worked through with lawyers, percentage splits, voting rights, etc. It's not just "you take this, I'll take that" - if it's split three ways there'll be share allocation, which then ties it to HMRC and valuations, then rights, then who gets what position, who does the hiring, what policy do they follow for strategic direction, marketing, etc. It's a massive amount of work. The easy bit is the bid itself, 'cos all that involves is Mike saying "yep" and it's done.
He has, in a bank, something like £300m or so. Everything else he's "worth" is tied into what he referred to as "wallpaper", or shares. As in, he owns 60% of Fraser Group, which gave him a valuation of around £3bn. He could use that money/capital to be creative, acquire stakes in businesses, like Evans Cycles, without spending a penny of his own cash. However, that's tanked to the point where he's not even a billionaire anymore and it's getting worse. Many stores will close, his online business isn't worth enough to support him and he's had to close Shirebrook meaning he can't even keep the online business open anyway. His disastrous PR will have lost a lot of custom and I personally doubt Frasers will survive this. Whether Ashley does is another matter, but he's likely to just bugger off a la Philip Green to some island somewhere. So on to NUFC, who are different. They are a private company owned wholly by him. He cannot loan NUFC money from Frasers Group nor use their capital/share/value to support NUFC. So if/when he takes the club down - and he knows he will, because he's an inept and incompetent boob who runs things on barely even a shoestring - he simply will not have any cash in his bank to "loan" the club. We then enter borrowing which will be a) hard to get in the Championship, and b) expensive if we don't bounce straight back. It also goes against his business model and, importantly, his principles - he hates the City/financial institutions and cannot bear to be beholden to them. He's basically got a bunch of absolute **** not just coming, but already here. He's worth less - by millions - every second of every day. He cannot possibly afford to keep NUFC. He stands to lose absolutely everything in 3 months. And everybody knows it. He has NO choice but to sell the club. None whatsoever. He's just very lucky someone out there wants to buy it. I suspect he'll have to take around £280m, which is still a little profit. But I honestly can't see how he could even contemplate keeping the club.
I understand, so thanks for the info.. I'm convinced it's close and the last thing we need is him losing his fortune in assets and still having nufc, so I feel like if he doesn't sell the future will be very dark for us.
Let's not forget this man has a history of absolutely abominably bad decision-making. A LONG history. Particularly with our club. Coupled with the fact he's a grade A moron, we could yet see this all flip about and spit in our face. I'm hoping sense/money prevails over his famously ignorant opinions. But just as I'm expecting UAE ownership to finally be announced, I would be utterly unsurprised if we end up with barely-even-a-millionaire Mike, no scouting team, no budget, Charnley puliing strings and Bruce in charge for a headlong rush into relegation next season.
I think this really is it for nufc in terms of being a top tier club for at least my lifetime if not forever. I mean the league is swamped with billionaires, it's already lightyears behind the top 8, the training facilities, stadium and club in general decades behind what is required at this level and ultimately there will come a point when mega billionaires just don't want to but a club.
the chronicles reporting is seemingly based on nothing. They sit on the fence on everything..they know **** all and its constant. Lee Ryder is being paid to do **** all.
hopefully it just gets cancelled ... **** leeds , west brom and whoever... best solution, but because of money they will push to play I think
