Exactly, those type of ****ing ******s do my head in. I had a mate who 'supported' Sheff Weds back in the day, he was a geek, I told him 'You don't even like football wtf you doing?' and he just said he liked the shirts... I just told him to buy the shirts if he liked them but stop pretending you care about the club.

There's loads of them about <laugh>

Some even change teams every season <confused>

I met a Utd fan a couple of weeks ago that couldn't even name 10 of their players <laugh>

That's a proper plastic.

United fan in the pub on Sunday (sporting a horrendous fake United kit) thought they should bring Rooney on and, before he scored, kept ****ing whining about Lukaku. Obviously an hour later he thought Lukaku was the black Jesus.

Complete and utter melt.

People who can't afford to go but would love to if they could are different imo.

I'm referring to the kind of dick who thinks he's a hardcore fan but the most effort he ever makes is sticking a replica top on and going the alehouse.

I think glory supporters and plastic fans are determined individually. There's always one lad in your group who knows **** all about football that would get away with calling himself a fan, really he's just tagging along because of FOMO.

Matth's alright, I wouldn't call him a plastic by any means.

You get called a glory hunter, as you are a glory hunter mate. That's not a jibe, it's simply a fact.

When you were a kid and started watching football, you've made a decision as to which team to follow, you picked the one that were winning pots most seasons. Many make the same kind of decision it's how it works.

Years later and you're still a passionate United fan, but it doesn't alter the fact that the reason you originally picked them is because they were winning.

To be fair, If I was a glory hunter, I wouldn't supporting Manchester United now.

It always find that the people who bang on about being proper fans are really envious of the fact that the rest of us have multiple purposes in our lives and we are not held to ransom by the fortunes of our teams. They think because we choose to spend our time and money where we want to as oppose to feeling obliged to spend it on the latest club wallpaper like them, that they deserve some form of unique praise for their shallow lives.
<laugh> What absolute bollocks.

Therein lies the issue. There's load of Liverpool fans in their late 30's / early 40's who made the same choice you did as a kid <laugh>
