De Gea has the ability to be a good keeper but he is prone to lapses in concentration and is inexperienced not only with English football but in general as well. A fact the media out to condemn forget. He needs time to grow and develop. I think the time is now for Lindegaard to be given the number 1 spot for the rest of the season.
**** me, you cannot speak to save your life. I'm no grammar police, but when someone doesn't actually make sense I have to pull them up.
No problem with you saying that, but the comment about him being the best in the world next season was amazing.
How old is De Gea? 17m is a lot for a 14 year old. I think it is fantastic a 14 year old can get a start for Manchester United, if a 14 year old can make their first team he has to be the real deal I guess
When United were struggling to replace Schmeichel, they went through a lot of keepers and none of the calamities got as many chances as De Gea. If any other keeper had made that many mistakes he would have been dropped by now so that tells me the transfer fee is the only reason SAF is sticking with him.
I don't think it's a concentration thing, it's more of a confidence / composure thing. He's fine when he has to react on instinct and doesn't have much thinking time, but when it comes to things like corners and long shots he seems to dwell on them too much. For the first Liverpool goal he was too focused on what Carroll was doing rather than going for the ball. He didn't even get off the ground - all he needed to do was stand up straight and the ball would have hit him in the face! I've been in the same situation as a goalkeeper and it's not pleasant - everything just seems to go wrong cos you're over thinking rather than reacting. Hopefully he'll shrug it off over time as he gets older, but I do worry that the more mistakes he makes the more he will have to dwell on.
That's a very good point. If he'd had Vidic or Rio in front of him at the corner yesterday they'd have just told him to go for the ball and let them deal with the donkey. And they definitely wouldn't have let Agger get a free header from there! Ah, it never rains but it pours!
Hope De Gea plays in goal on Tuesday evening as Stoke's aerial bombardment will have him flapping all over the place!
You tell me the ****e CB argument is irrelevant with Szczesny, and then you use it yourself for De Gea? You really are a complete ****ing moron. You put David de Gea behind Arsenal's back 4, he'd let in 15 a game.
As a goalkeeper, he is expected to command his area, his prescence alone is supposed to alieviate the pressure on the CB's, not cause further problems. he's just a poor keeper, the sooner you realise it, the better.
Your'e the moron. He said young CBs with little experience, not ****e CBs. Any idiot can tell the difference.
Evans isn't young though, he's just really ****. Smalling can have the young excuse, Evans can't. De Gea is in a similar boat to Szczesny, but not dealing with it nearly as well.
