In all seriousness, morale wise this is a huge result for our players, our club and most of all our chairman. OaU
He done well and could have had a few goals tonight. Hope the lad can stay fit and get a run in the team.
My concern with Watmore last night was his loss of pace.. Hopefully this will improve if he stays fit..
@MrRAWhite He did show a good turn of pace at times which was promising. The good sign was that he was getting in scoring positions and had some good chances. Fingers crossed that he stays fit. He's due a bit of luck.
His goal, the best of the night imo. was a perfect example of what he can do, he is, at his best way ahead of anyone at the club, and surprise was a key element, I am hoping to see a lot more of Duncan, but a bit less of his direct running. And maybe last night, was not just a one off, but an example of him using his head more, and his pace less, it would be win win if this is so, we will see.
Thanks RAW thought twice about posting it tbh. as I wrote a similar one a week or so back, along similar lines, but not sure I posted it. Pleased you enjoyed the game.
I have always thought there was a player in him...just with all his injuries he has not played and sharpened/improved his game.. in terms of football years he still is only 19. The trick for him is how quick can he play catch up with his abilities/skills. If you can recall how a certain Chitty ex bindipper play was a few years ago and how he is now. Mind a lot of that may be down to a very good coach/manager Yep I hope Dunc stays fit and progresses as that will be good for him and us!
Good point , careers in football are rarely linear and can go either way, at any time, we have seen quite a lot of it at Sunderland, rarely to our advantage, it would be nice to think that Dunc can be one of the few exceptions, and starts a trend.
