Ha... This is a pretty civilised bar going by the few times I have been in there...I think they normally do a canny selection of real ales but they are not that cheap..
I wouldn`t mind joining, is it CIU? Do you only get in on matchdays?
    MrRAWhite

It is not CIU and in general I only get in there match days..If you could get in on Saturday I could introduce you to some lads who could propose a membership..If you can't make it, I could ask myself for you to see what the score is..
enjoyed our game of snooker. do you have to work for the railway to join the club?

PS..I meant I have never worked for British Rail..
Some of the comments were a bit heartless. However, I feel they were meant in the right spirit...You have a lot of respect from the vast majority of posters on our board from what I can gather..
Hello mate ~ aye, it was a bit of a shock. I've never been really bad in my life, but I've had a pain in my chest a couple of time for the last two or three weeks. I knew it was building up to one, but told myself not to be so daft! Was a bit surreal to say the least having one. Still, sorted now, just got to take it easy for a while. I'd only been back from Corfu two days, good job it didn't happen there.....

Had a good laugh at some of the comments on the thread. The heartless sods. (Or is that me?)

Thanks for your concern mate and all the best to you.

Thank for those kind words mate, although I'm getting tired of hearing them, much to your joy..... met ACS today. He's actually a decent bloke, even though I've called him worse than ****e on here....
All the best to and yours mate..And here's hoping for loads of positives in the coming year..<ok>
Things are ok this end Allan but the struggle with Lorraine is still on going. It's going to be at least couple of years before she is any where near sitting upright again. We have a year of more operations to look forward to but you just keep at it and tell yourself things will get better. We have put the house up for sale and are looking for a bungalow so that will be a lot easier. Yes it is hard when your kids move on and no doubt whatever he does he will make you proud. Have a great xmas mate and love to all from us in York, take care & be happy..

Thanks very much mate. sorry for the late relpy ive only just noticed this!
It's such a relief to get the 2 of them out in good health. It's been a Rollercoaster last 8 months for us. Hopefully you can get to meet the 2 of them in a few years time when I bring them to the match!

Hope you and your family are doing well! <ok>.
Good to see things are looking up marra, and fingers crossed that your sister will be ok..<ok>
Hello Allan ~ No, I work at the factory across the road, NSK. We're only on a temporary 4 day week though, although there's talk about another week off next month. Doesn't really affect me yet, I've still to go in, and I've got plenty of holidays left if it came to the crunch. I know quite a few lads from Caterpillar who got finished last night, one of them is a good mate of mine. He doesn't know Gordon though.

My brothers OK now, and my sister has her operation tomorrow, fingers crossed. She's got a brilliant outlook of it, a lot better than I would have I reckon.

    Thanks for your concern matey.

Ian Sombrero (that's not me surname like)
