2.40 Longchamp - UP 11/1 (BOG) & PETITE NOBLESSE 6/1 (BOG)
Going for two horses against the field here in the French 1000 guineas. Beauty Parlour has looked good but is a ridiculous price at 8/11. Starting with UP she is a filly I really like and I see her getting better with more racing. Although only finishing 11th on debut I have followed her since as she travelled like the best filly in the race that day and thats probably turned out to be the truth. She went on to win her maiden at the second time of asking and followed that up with a fine 4th in the BC Fillies Juvenile on her third career start where she was slightly unlucky not to be closer. Her first start as a 3yo was at Dundalk and she was turned over as a 1-2 fav. However she was well looked after by Joseph O'Brien and shaped as in need of the run when her stable weren't exactly firing. UP'S latest start was in the 1000 guineas trial at Leopardstown where she finished 3rd behind subsequent emphatic 1000 guineas winner Homecoming Queen. I felt UP ran very green that day again suggesting she still has plenty to learn and also lots of improvement to come. She was only beaten a length and has 3/4 of a length to make up on joint fav Fire Lilly today I feel she is capable of doing so.
Petite Noblesse is another Coolmore owned filly this time trained by Andre Fabre. He certainly doesn't waste time putting them in at the top level if he doesn't feel they are capable of competing against the best. I don't know a lot about this one but I watched her victory last time in a conditions race in really bad conditions and she looked like a top notch prospect at 6/1 I will take a chance on her making it 3 wins from 4 starts.
