People need to stop clinging onto us finishing 6th last season. We made the play offs in a weak championship and you’d think we’ve achieved something. We’re in no better of a position than if we finished 16th, it’s still just a season under the belt of the players. It means nothing if we go backwards this season.

Barnsley finished 5th a few years ago on their first season back in the championship then got relegated the season after. Huddersfield were 4th the season before last then just about survived last season.

For what it's worth I think it would be a massive mistake if we replaced him intentionally.

In each of our 3 league games we have had greater possession and more attempts on goal. He's just missing a striker to put some of those chances away and we have conceded 2 goals from deflected shots, which is just bad luck.

I really don't know what the club would hope to achieve in replacing him (unless Mowbray decides to leave of course, which is fair enough).
The only thing I have some sympathy with is that if he’s going to change at the end of the season for a younger version and I think many of us would see the sense in that then we need to work out the right time. When managers are about to leave they can lose authority. It’s a tough call and maybe end of season is the right time but we also don’t want to miss the right opportunity for the best longer term option if it appears.

Not sure how you don't think we achieved anything last season? We were one of the best teams in the league to watch and just fell short of being promoted having came up. Huge strides if you ask me but everyone's opinion is different.

If you knew him, you would know how arrogant he is.
I ain't interested in driving him away, I just want clarity from the top table, so the fans know where we are going, and with who as gaffer.
Nowt wrong with that.

Is it arrogance or self confidence bob if he's doing it his way you probably need a bit of both

We did achieve something tho, the team gave us one of the most enjoyable seasons weve ever had with the football we played. We got to believe n be proud of our team again. The league wasnt weak last season it was just more even. Yes this season will be tougher and success will be measured on how we contine to build an exciting team. For me a mid table finish with our young lads continuing to improve with us improving the depth from last season will be a success.

I dont want any overnight fixes, i want long term success and a team that we can continue to be proud off

Oh ive said it to him a few times, he just is stubborn and very arrogant, although I've known him since his Brum time, he has always been the same
Pleased to hear that it is not just behind his back; nothing worse. What is his reaction to you in that case (not knowing your role/link within SAFC set up), with him probably knowing you post on here?

if he's that unhappy and flat let him walk, he's not daft mowbray he's playing right to the fans, did the same at blackburn in his last year aswell,

But why might he be unhappy? He didn't complain last season when we were very short up front. Has he been given assurances that have not been kept?

He put up with a lot at Blackburn for years, and it was little wonder he felt obliged to mention the constraints he was under.

" Let's him walk" suggests he is an easily replaced cog in a super efficient machine. That is not what we are, though we are much better than we were.

Then there is the endless churn of approximately one year managers at the club. The whole football world would be looking at us if he left after his work in the last 12 months. "You get a year there" would be a reasonable thought any prospective young manager might have.

He likes the job and has said so often and is doing it very well IMO . He is not like some others who have tried to talk themselves away for a pay off.

So, aside from all the in-fighting that is starting to remind me of RTG.....are we confident someone will sign today?
I'm expecting to get back on here later to one signing and any more to follow after the weekend and we have possibly said goodbye to a couple of our players.

Aye. My guess is 1 striker, 1 wide player with Batth, Pritch and Bennette (loan) going.
Question marks over Gooch, but I reckon he'll stay. Not concerned (yet) about the Clarke and Roberts rumours
Hoping we pick up a CDM, but not confident

What did we achieve? You don’t win anything for losing in the play offs. Yes it was a good first season back and yes we played good football but unfortunately there’s no “we can string 30 passes together before scoring a goal” trophy.

If we fall flat on our arse this season and finish bottom half then is that still huge strides because we aren’t as bad as we were 4 years ago? Ipswich are one of the favourites for promotion already at 2/1 and they’ve just came up, we’ve been leapfrogged by a team coming out of L1 amongst others but apparently we’re making progress.

Sorry for the Monday morning negativity but I think some folk are in for a wake up call this season unless something changes because the club just doesn’t seem right at the minute and others clearly knew that hence why both Ipswich and Preston were healthy favourites against a team “making strides”. A newly promoted team coming here on the opening day of the season and being evens to beat us in our own stadium when they’d made ONE significant signing and had a few first team players injured isn’t a good sign at all.

Im the same about CDM, feel its a vital position but dont think we will sign anyone

I think we need a minimum of 3 - CF, Forward, CDM

Bob seems to be hinting that the club want tired rid of Mowbray but are waiting for a chance to get rid without upsetting the fans? Surely that's risky as it might never happen he could go on a 10 match winning streak and be safe as houses.

If they want rid then they should have done it end of last season?

But like another poster has said I take this with a pinch of salt, Bob might know plenty at the club but I can't see them exactly telling anyone who will listen if they unsure about TM?
I honestly don't want a change, we just need to be more positive.
1. In the transfer market.
2. In how off field things need sorting quickly

Making the paly offs after so long in League one and the club on the verge of administration is a great achievement Massive progress in anyones books.
You say If we go backwards If is a great word. You seem to be complaining about something that hasn't happened yet.
