Im beyond caring now tbf. All i know is we could have had a good go at it this season. If it wasnt for Ballard,Batth and Alese injured in the playoffs wed be in the Prem now. If it wasnt also for Evans and Stewart being out we would certainly be up now.

Weve had a solid base to get back to where we belong with some investment. Promotion would give us over 100m in funds, weve sold nearly 40k season tickets and for whatever reason we are signing kids and waiting for a loan or 3 nearer September when theres already been nearly 20 points to play for?

Im at a loss in knowing what the mentality of our club is.?

Long term sustainability isn't it. We've been bleeding money for I don't know how long, despite the fantastic support, and Dreyfus wants to/has stopped that in its tracks.

He's also got us promoted, nearly repeated the trick a year after and has signed/retained a load of exciting young talent. What more do you want? Wait until the window has shut before criticising, I think we've got some good stuff lined up.

From last season weve lost and saved on the wage bill of Dajaku, Winchester, Bailey, Michu and Lhiadji.

Weve currently bought in other than Dack who was free a load of kids under 20? Im not really sure why some fans are still having a dig at people for the lack of ambition weve shown, or should i say zero.
Rewind nearly 1 year ago Stewart got injured and we were left with Simms who soon followed him. Fast forward a year we are in the same situation but only Simms has been replaced with a young kid from Benfica B? Wasnt the plan to keep getting stronger each season?

We've signed some very exciting prospects. Jobe, Seelt, Mayenda and Hemir all come with big potential and are were highly rated by their clubs.

For example, Jobe wasn't short of suitors and Brighton had offered Hemir a contract.

Just because we have spent millions and millions doesn't mean we aren't being ambitious.

We've also retained Clarke, Roberts and Patterson. Signed Ballard, Hume and Cirkin to new deals.

What exactly is it you want?

Prospects??

Ive already said we had a big foundation to build on, wed be in the Prem now if it wasnt for the injuries we had. Why take a step forward and 2 back? With the right investment we could have cracked it this season.

We all love a prospect but you get out of life what you put in it and right now any hopes of promotion we had last season seems to have been forgotten about, and im not sure i like it. I may be suprised, theres still time in the window yet but i very much doubt it. This season is a massive anti climax to how we finished last and im sure im not alone in thinking when we played Ipswich wed be in a stronger position with more than 1 forward

Agreed. I think a lot of people were watching YouTube videos with red and white specs on when we signed all these youngsters saying they would kick us on... I got called pessimistic etc for pointing out they had a combined total of **** all experience at a decent level and likely wouldn't be much use to us until after Christmas at the earliest...

Prospects are great, but I was really hoping / expecting us to have brought in at least one or two immediate upgrades to the first team by now (or quality additions to the squad at the bare minimum).

I'm sure we'll be fine, but "fine" feels a bit disappointing after the end to last season. Was hoping we would kick on.

I feel like deep down alot of fans realise this but feel like they have a duty to defend the club.

This season was the perfect opportunity to better what we did last season without even needing to spend millions of pounds.

Hey guys. I’ve been buried in contract negotiations all week 18 hours a day and literally have no idea where things are. I know we haven’t signed anybody but just scanning it looks like Cannon definitely isn’t happening? What’s the background to that? Is he going somewhere else?

I hope the contracts weren't on me?

See your point, but imagine, when we got promoted from the third division, if someone said we’d be fine in the championship 2 seasons later. At the time of promotion, we’d likely have been happy with that.

I agree we’d be in the prem without the injuries too. But I think we’d be getting battered week on week. Last season was so far ahead of schedule I believe. It has, in my opinion, misaligned our supporter expectations.

I also think the furore over no striker signing is stupid! It’s not like we aren’t trying to sign anyone. Chances are we are (none of us really know), not signing someone is totally different to not trying to/being turned down by someone.

How can you possibly know that tees? There are no cheap good championship players. Most of the decent ones go for around our transfer record (£13.6m). I don’t see much value out there and I think you have to spend big to compete. The apparent £8m price tag slapped on Cannon is case in point. Half a decent season and that’s it!

Window is still open. Would you prefer a will grigg now or someone 5 times better a few days before window shuts. Because of the saudi league player values and wages have rocketed even for average players

Spot on. I think if the club spent £8 million on a striker, he’d be so talented we’d think he has a very good chance of developing into an outstanding / top 6 PL level player. Cannon and Simms for instance are unlikely to fit into that category imo.

That's a tad optimistic haha, no club is selling a player of that level for £8m!

Haha! Probably and point taken. He wouldn’t be that level now but if we could see a glimpse of that potential talent in his play and stats.

There would be other suitors for that kind of player as well and we are not attractive enough quite yet, I reckon.

Were going to have a good season & a good go at promotion....players will come in....BUT...were setting up that if our right good go doesnt happen this year .....we will be having a right good go next year or the year after......& Wint be in Derby's position for example.....KTF....lets see what we have September the 1st & reassess.....am as frustrated as you & everyone, but the market has become a whole lot more complicated parly in my mind due to Saudi Camel League
