He would have been a regular for us and an absolute legend if he had come along 3 or 4 years later. ****e timing that it was during the Quinn and Phillips days.
Think only chance we have regarding 8m, is how we could wangle structuring the deal, could we afford 5m then a sell on percentage, further money on promotion, a buyback clause? Obviously i dont know if he is a main target....but if we want him i believe we will be working on all angles we can.....i also think some (players who wish to progress) will see us as a club they can massively improve with, be given a chance ...& Be given the opportunity to play infront of large demanding crowds.....not many other clubs can off this...it might allow is to negotiate a deal less that say Stoke would pay upfront if the player sees us as a preference
Still a lot of deals to be done for PL & European clubs, whole Saudi thing has hoyed a spanner in the works....how many of the players who have gone there would have moved within Europe kicking off the normal chain reaction....which Championship clubs then seize on
Our situation complicated further by Stewarts injury, if he was fit he would either have signed new deal...or moved for decent money....we would have known where we were & be in a position to react as the whole market played out.
Interesting few weeks....nervy few weeks...we must get deals done & im sure we will...id rather we stay as we are right now trying to wangle getting out first or second choice players in than drop to our fifth or sixth choice before we kicked a ball simply as we could....is getting in who we could right now not what we did in the past....it never went well..... although frustrating i think we must hold out trying to get as high up list of targets we can....but come September 1st we must have players in....even if its a lot an we dont see as staying beyond a season....we dont have a choice but to KTF

I’d take him! He’s not set the Prem alight but hasn’t been terrible for them. Definitely be a good forward in this league

Cheers, I was looking for news articles about it and there’s one from June when he was linked on Everton and the quoted fee was £10m - if that’s true then we’re not getting him unless it’s a loan.
This plus him following the club on instagram must mean it’s close? Surely!
I initially look at Mateta and go he's been poor in the Premier but then think how hard it is and that he's a level way above what we have now. Yes please.
