If we'd been promoted I doubt Battth, Gooch, Evans, etc, would've been seen as vital and supporters wouldn't have shed many tears if they were replaced imo ...

... most of these questions seem to boil down to whether or not you trust the club.

Some supporters obviously don't feel they can.
Some supporters have issues with speakman or KLD, so any slight negative that comes from the club they will use it as a stick to beat them with.
I know there are issues surrounding a striker in particular but no one knows what conversations the club have had with Stewart they could be very optimistic about him signing, Cannon could also still be on the cards but may have to wait till nearer the close of the transfer window.
I asked a similar question the other day, would fans be happy if we signed Cannon on loan and Stewart came back fit at the end of September and signed a new contract. I would personally love that scenario however that will not happen today, or would people to prefer us to sign an experienced striker tomorrow who we don't know how they will settle, just look at grigg which I think would put a stop to Stewart signing just so we had some one in now

It's nonsense to think that the club are not busily trying to recruit players we need. It's also nonsense to think they're not entirely aware of the RS situation and the options arising. It's clear that, under this regime,we are not going to make the mistakes of the past.....we have a strategy from which we will not deviate. The recruitment has generally been excellent so far, mistakes have been few,and we've been seen to respect players and their well-being. We've become a well run club with regard to on-field matters....(.off-field requires major surgery!).....but there is no evidence to suggest there is a lack of willingness or ability to improve the squad.

that’s not what I meant. I meant I agree with them that money is the driving factor, but that they (and everyone) is speculating about the motives of both the club and Batth because nobody other than those people can know.

Even if somebody hears something direct from Speakman or batth, they might be lying to them. Even if a white lie. And then every person in that chain becomes Chinese whispers. That’s my point. Nobody can actually know.

When I quit my last job I said it was purely about money and told nobody else any different. The truth was I was on my way to a breakdown and I didn’t want to admit it. Only my wife knew. Not comparing the situations but using it as an example of how anybody claiming to know a fact about the reasons behind something, is speculating
Fair enough mate, I had misunderstood.

Not trying to dig out any poster, respect everyone. I just thought it sounded like you believed one side of story and dismissed others who have given some quite specific evidence as to why they believe Baath is keen on a move for family reasons. There reasoning is quite plausible in my opinion.

No offence intended to Prehab or Bob as my post suggested reading it back. Appreciate fully how information is given and received inside of football.

Said all along - I'll reserve judgement until 1st Sept, but it's ok to express concern in the meantime.

When you say "the club,"; aren't you referring to Lord Mediocre and Golden Boy? One is a sports management drop-out, and the other graduated with a sports management degree from the 50th-ranked uni in the UK. In the US, sports management is the major of choice for athletes that don't want to prioritize academics.

Not sure all I can find is available, if it’s a perm I’d imagine he’s out of our price range, if simms was up to £8m I think archer will be 10+
you probably pushing the 15m mark for archer t

i agree with that, but now a chunk of the fan base are now saying KLD is no better the SD and co, this is some of the biggest melt down i've seen in a long time, scared to see what it's like tomorrow if we get beat

Well that is utter nonsense and people can surely see that. Said it before - what happens on the pitch always dictates what we talk about. 2 defeats in 48 hours opens the old wounds about strikers/signings etc
Win tomorrow and it largely goes away.......

Southampton, Coventry, Boro, and a few others, seem to be losing key players. They're bringing in repacements but could well end up weakened. If we keep very good squad together, and add to the late on, we could have a really good season.
Stop it. This positivity is so anti Sunderland!!
(Agree totally though!!)

What ARE you going on about?

a big problem for some fans as-well is the club keeps everything so tight nit now you hardly here anything until it's done, some fans think because of nothing in the press the club aren't trying, where to be honest the way it runs now i wouldn't be shocked if one was just announced out the blue
