Sounds very impressive:

The 18-year-old winger has made 43 appearances across various age groups within the Academy, scoring nine goals and claiming eight assists. He has also made six Premier League 2 appearances along with two games in the FA Youth Cup.

He was part of the side that saw the Under-18's finish as runners-up in the Under-18's Premier League North, narrowly missing out on the title to Manchester City.

Academy Manager Robin Nicholls said: "Ethan’s final season as a scholar saw him make significant contributions to a U18 team that finished 2nd in the U18 Premier League North. Although injury curtailed the season early for him, the pace and power that he displayed for the majority of the campaign leaves us excited about the potential pathway for him here at the club. We are delighted that he has signed his first professional contract here at SAFC."
Hes an exciting prospect for sure, he will play loads in the u21s this season

Since Thom Haye has been brought in the media I thought I'd share quotes from him yesterday

A player who may still see Van Wonderen leave is midfielder Thom Haye. The midfielder is aiming for a foreign adventure. “That is also something that I said when I came to Heerenveen,” says Haye. “I know things are going on. Going into names doesn't make much sense. There is a lot of interest in the background. It's difficult in terms of price at the moment. I look at it calmly. I have the ambition to take the step, but only if it is a good step and everything falls into place.”

Am I being dim here? I don’t think there’s anything in this but usually this sort of tweet (I think he is/was an InsideFootball ‘journo’) have our fans in a flap. I’ve seen no mention of it though - I got it from the Stoke forum.

About as much chance of that as there is of me swimming the Atlantic Ocean. Big wages, did nowt last year at Stoke, looks knackered and disinterested. Sounds more like a bullshit story for clicks or Stoke advertising that they want rid and hope to get attention from other clubs.
