It’s madness to me that you even have to say that - he’s been brilliant for us and a resting bitch face when he’s probably gutted he can’t be playing more of a part or a lack of Instagram activity shouldn’t see fans turning.

We have no idea of his intentions or what’s happening with his contract. For all we know the club could have taken the offer off the table whilst he’s injured.
Problem is though the silence is deafening espically now when others in the team are signing extentions, exciting young players signing and being linked. I for one hopes he conintues in the red & white for Sunderland.

I think most people are behind him. It goes without saying that Ross is an unbelievable player and brilliant asset for the club. I really hope that he is the same player he was before the injury and that he signs a long term contract.

Personally however I don’t think that will happen as it’s gone on way too long, and I think quite a few other think this too. I hope I’m way off with that but I’m expecting him to leave, based on nothing but gut feeling.

If he does leave mind I’d wish him the very best and most fans would do the same.

Free knows the league and a Portuguese speaker to help semedo settle in?
Not for me, appartently has a shocking attitude - i was speaking to someone about him earlier this yr and he said hes heard a lot of negative things about his attitude. Always take it with a pinch of salt when its 3rd hand info but pretty sure he got dropped last season due to downing tools.

Dont want players like that in the club, talent wise theres a player there but its all about the mindset at the club to go with that talent and im not sure he has that

he would be a good signing on a free. But that source isn’t confident inspiring

edit - didn’t know about his attitude mentioned above. That rules him out if true as we know our reecruitment team take that into account t

I actually think stewart might stay, i know folk can say the silence says it all - especially with neil cirkin n hume all signing new deals last few months. However, i think its a good thing in some ways as theres very little rumours about him leaving us now (probably down to his injury but still) and its not like his agent has been leaking stuff to the press to get more money etc.

I hope he stays, and most importantly recovers fully from his injury as he has all the tools to fire us to the PL.

I was chatting to rangers fans who are in the know and they said its totally died down from their end about wanting him - for me they were a threat as they are a huge club n play in europe every season, plus i think hes a rangers fan.

I agree with what prehab has said, the club are really taking care of their players these days so the offer will still be on the table n i reckon thatll mean a lot to stewart n might just persuade him to stay

Personally think he has been badly advised. Agent seen the big licks and the PL calling when the goals were going in. They thought his injury was over after ruptured quad and expected PL clubs to roll in.

Ruptured Achilles to follow and that's crushed any PL big time move. For the near future anyway. Think it's time for a big dose of reality and to sign what he has been offered to date.

I like everyone love Stewart, but when the whole contract talks started to drop into the mainstream and it began to rumble on, something we've seen countless times, I lost interest and accepted he'll 99 percent be away. Its up to him what he does in his life. I love how the club are getting all their ducks in a row by offering new contracts so we can plan going forward. It also comes across by the club as "Here is our proof were invested in you and would like to reward you with this new and improved contract...... but we aren't going to beg", and that's to everyone. Ross may surprise us all and the next announcement is him signing a new deal. But once again, its up to him.

That's what I heard the club have pulled the offer and are now playing hard ball and said they will come back to the table when they see how he recovers from his injury. Sounds like a bit of cock swinging going on but probably the right moves we will just have to wait and see.

I think it’s just a shot in the target rumour we need a striker he’s available, easy link, he’s not one to get the pulse racing but has a decent ish record at this level, if he has an attitude I doubt we’d even go near him these days (thankfully)

From an ability and style of play perspective I think he would be a good signing. Technically very good and links play really well. Decent finisher as well. A good option to cover Stewart but also not going to expect to start every week. Would take the pressure of young striker such as Semedo to hit the ground running.
If his attitude is poor though I’d stay clear The unity and spirit on the squad seems fantastic and we don’t want to undermine that.

Aye i agree, its putting 2 n 2 together. I could def see him at watford, seems like there type of player - has the ability but has a shocking attitude.

Dont think he fits our mold at all, which is another sign of just how far weve come in a short space of time

Aye ability wise i have no issues with him but the attutude would be a worry for me. I dont think hes a very good sub so think he would be kicking off if he wasnt the main striker.

We have so much talent in the squad but the biggest strength is our team spirit, every player that signs must fit into that ' thats why i cant see us signing him
