Nixon has a story on us being “braced for bids” this morning.

I assume this has zero specifics in it but if anybody pays or would be mildly interesting to know what he’s saying :D
That is the ultimate column filler stuff mind. There will obviously be bids and we hardly need him to tell us. We hardly need him to tell us one or two will be away either as the manager has already effectively done it!

Where has the Keinan Davis link come from? Have you plucked that from your arse or are we actually after him? I’d be devastated if we lose Stewart for a striker who’s scored about 15 goals in 6 years.

Wouldn't want Davis like, he looked ****ing useless up here in the league game.

About as mobile as a floorboard and a touch like one too.

Re our model. What's the point of having a great season...keeping the manager then selling a couple of our top top players...to use the money to replace the players we've just sold?
Ok we night have literally a few quid profit from it but then the team is weaker than what it was at end of season.
Normally a side tries to keep their best players and add around 2 or 3 to improve it.
I know a few of you patient types will give me the reasons as to why it's for the best but I was under the impression our model would require us to sell a big player "every now and then" to help us out financially...not lose possibly our best couple of players at the end of every season.

Who's saying we are selling our better players. The rumours going around is that the club are trying to tie the likes of Clarke down to longer contracts like we did with Neil. Obviously if a Pl club offers silly money for a player then the club will have a choice to make. I'm sure the club are not touting our players out.

I guess it makes a difference to us working out how we can rid of xyz players as nee fxcker will want them & being stuck for the entire contract...or paying them to fook off....what a polar opposite club we are now

Our process isnt just to sell our best players at any opportunity. The process is that if we were to lose any top player we would be in a position to reinvest that money to strengthen the team.

There will be times when we get an offer we cant refuse for a top player but the model is set up that we are always future planning for that

We will only sell players if its the right thing for the club rather than it being nessary. Thats the exact way you want a football club to be ran

Along the lines of. .
Robert's - Get braced for offers
Clarke - Brentford
Patterson - Wolves or Leicester
Neil - Anyone

Load of ****

The link of Patterson to Leicester to me doesn't make sense for a few reasons.

1- We could both be in the same league next season.
2- Iverson is a decent keeper himself, I don't rate Ward very highly, but he is an international 'keeper. Unless they are getting rid of both I can't see Patterson going from first choice here to second choice there.
3- The link started last year when Brendan Rodgers was manager, currently Smith is only in charge until the end of the season, so someone else could be in charge then. Who's to say that they (or Smith if he's in charge) won't have other priorities, especially if Leicester are relegated.
4- From what I've seen of Leicester this season, they have problems in most areas of the squad and goalkeeper is certainly one of the lesser problems.

I think this is something the press are just recycling to fill up collum inches and there less to it than appears.

Or hopefully as our process develops over time we already have the ready made replacement available to step in....we sell... reinvest some in youth back into continue the process & some in a replacement for where the process hasnt worked so we need a player who can go strat into first team.....id like to think over time we have the process to us selling when WERE ready to sell

The process we have started wint work all the time, when it doesnt hopefully we still make money as the developed player just hasnt hit the heights we need him to....but still has a value below our level

Half of London seem to want Clarke. If Leicester go down, they don't need another keeper. Iverson is class.

Roberts is a mad one. Been available for years before coming to us and no one really pushed him to the level he is at now. Wouldn't even know how to price him. Ballards injury has kept him under the radar a touch which should ensure we get another year before big offers come I.

Any lower PL club coming in and offering PL wages to any of our players, we are going to struggle to keep them. We need to obviously make sure the money is right for us.

but like it or not, one of the main ways we can convince the top young talent to come to us, is by proving we will sell them up when they’re ready. That’s what Brighton do.

I think people are so used to us having a **** side that nobody wants. It makes us uncomfortable as Sunderland fans as for so long we’ve had poor recruitment that losing our better players feels unthinkable. The recruitment team built THIS side out of buttons. Think what they can do with twenty plus million.

That's also what Southampton did year after year after year.

i personally think Clarke will be here next season roberts and Neil too

Stewart unsure
I am confident Clarke will be bere too. Roberts absolutely. I can see Stewart here too and then signing a new contract in Jan if all is well. I am not so sure we will see anyone sold personally, at least not the big hitters. It may be 1 year too soon to cash in. I could see maybe Pritchard, Matete, Embleton maybe moving on. Bennette, Lihadji off on loan. The core of the squad stays as is, maybe with one or two key perm signings, and 2 or 3 major loan deals. Just my opinion.
