Watched highlights off him today, looks a very good player.

Mostly plays LM or CF, when he plays as a CF he makes intelligent runs in behind and js composed when 1vs1 with the GK. When hes LM he looks to beat his opponent on the inside. He looks a very good finisher, will shoot early with either foot

Looking at his stats over last couple seasons, hes very direct, attempts around 5 dribbles a game n completes 60% of this and he has 2.6 shots a game on average

Clarke averaged 6 dribbles a game n 1.99 shots a game for comparison

Looks exactly the type of player we should be signing
From that it sounds like it would be him or Aravena rather than both as they sound fairly similar. Would you agree with that or could the compliment each other and the squad if both still signed do you reckon?

Aye i think it would be 1 or the other, due their versatility we could sign both but i reckon its 1 or the other

I don't agree with any kid moving the length of the country for football to be honest, it's just not right

As far as keepers at this club go though, I can see why younger ones might be looking elsewhere.

Patterson is 23 and he could be our number 1 for a decade.

Then we have Adam Richardson who is 19, signed a long term contract and by all accounts, the club rate him even higher than they did Patterson at the same age.

Then we've just seen 16 year old Matthew Young showing in pre-season that he may be the most promising of them all.

It's very unlikely, but we may not need to sign a first choice keeper for 20 years.

Sounds like a decent fee for someone we weren’t necessarily that keen to keep. Incredibly positive sounds like we were surprised by the fee- would imagine up to 2m wouldn’t be that “ positive” unless we really wanted **** for other reasons so hopefully more than that.
Weird, asterisked should have read get shot!( obviously a typo)

Life changing money maybe....but life changing money for him (his family) now....had he stayed with us...emulated Pickford (Patterson potentially)....then your talking life changing money....parents are potentially responsible for wrecking his career....but hey ho they have kade a few quid from there lad....any responsible parent would want to look directly at the route to first team at a good level of the game, look at facilities etc etc.... Chelsea may have the facilities but he could not have chose a worse club to progress with....in the hardest position on the pitch

Hope his parents enjoy there new house & car etc...not a choice id make for my boys given the chance....but id care what they could achieve long term tbf.....if he had stayed & progressed....his parents would have some shxthead agent to get him the best deal pre professional or at some other point so we would not have seen him anyway....might as well be gone now if thats the family attitude....not dor SAFC anymore
I can’t disagree with any of that mate. The only good side to losing talented players (and their representatives) who follow the money is that it confirms they haven’t got the attitude that we want.

The waste of talented young footballers is criminal. If half of them got opportunities at lower league clubs, while still young, it would do them and football in general the world of good.

Just got to look at Rigg, could have gone to the mags yet decided to stay with us because he knows that it will benefit his development, he's already around the first team and will play games next season, with any luck he'll be playing PL next season, within another 2 years if he carries on developing the way he is the top clubs could be paying mega bucks for him.
Had he left for the mags or any of the top 6 I believe he would be no where near the first team in 4 years.
This is nothing to do with his ability it's all down to making sure you get the right development.

I've never got the Pritchard love in, took and take plenty of abuse for it, but that's the joys of opinions.

I canr wait to see how we line up these first few games, I still think it will be more of a 3 and not a 'natural 10' which to me plays more into the squads make up than 2 in midfield and a 10.

Options like opinions aren't a bad thing imo
