some tall lads have been signed and none of them 'look that tall'...many lads hitting the tall edge of 5 foot and over 6 foot tend to look 'leggy and skinny' yet these lads look well built, able to cope with that extra height.

i know that sounds wrong but take Stewart for one, always looked ready to snap in a tackle, these lads look like the ones to do the snapping...less being bullied this season i reckon.
Tidied....

This kid has scored 8 goals in 63 appearances and chipped in a few assists so he’s clearly handy in the box anarl, just what we need because we are HOPELESS from corners.

Semedo is 6’4, Seelt is 6’4, Bellingham is at least 6’2, Triantis 6’3.

Absolutely no idea who our centre backs are going to be though. Good to have the option of proper centre backs to fill in when we have injuries.

Bloody hell thats a shock. I wonder which position Onien will nail down now that we dont need him to be a makeshift CB anymore?

Could he learn the Evans role or is that already going to be Dan Neil?

It looks like he may be out the team, but we always think that and he surprises us all. Luke O'Nien attitude is a shining example to all the young lads, he just loves playing, it's like he thanks his lucky stars everyday that he is lucky enough to play football for a living and decides he will go out of his way to show everyone how grateful he is!

true enough, people say our corners were sh1te but apart from LND there was really no one to aim for and lads were well marked, get a couple of taller lads in there it is harder for them to be marked and gives more options, hopefully we see much improvement there and also defending corners, we all saw how teams decided that was the best way to play agains tus.

Guess it depends how quick Triantis and Seelt settle and adapt to a higher standard. O'Nien definitely would seem to start above them on paper but the fact they're both starting pre-season with us and will have the whole pre-season is absolutely massive

Signings early! Crazy idea can't see it catching in mate!

Looks like that's the plan. Lots of work into this window to give the players every chance to sign early, settle in and hit the season knowing what's expected. Massive that.

Re: Anderson - its worth mentioning sometimes our model will fail. Not all of these kids we sign are going to have the impact Ekwah and Cirkin have for example.

Not for one second writing him off. Just that the club might have brought him in and after 6 months working with him realised he's not quite at the level we hoped.

Same might be the case for Triantis and Seelt. But we need to get more right than we get wrong.

O9 is fine cm for the odd game but he isnt great with his back to play. Hes much more effective when the game is in front of him like it is at cb

Agree he is great to have around the place n might be our most important player off the pitch - great link between the older players like baath evans pritchard n the younger lads

He is too weak. Might develop but doesnt have that power, athlete level the club want

That’s what I mean mate - not the delivery, the lack of options in the box. Whenever we got a corner it was like getting a throw in, you never got excited.

Personally I think O’niens attitude is top drawer and he’s important to have around the squad as a utility man but he’s not good enough to be a starter in the defence.
