100%, again I think if Cirkin turned down the Spurs contract we would get the £20 million (i think)
He'd need to sign for Spurs first before he could transfer to Villa. A player can register with three clubs so this would be possible.

We get 6m from Spurs, Spurs would get 20m from Villa so Spurs end up plus 14m is how I'd see it.

I think this would work if Cirkin agrees to it. But if he doesn't agree to the buy back, then I think we would be free to sell him to Villa else it would probably break a Labour law somewhere.

It feels like a bad sign that we’re managing to do deals for Cirkin, Patterson, Hume etc (although obvs getting those signed up are brilliant things in themselves) but Stewart who we’ve known needs a new deal for over a year now is still not done

Just to point out Spurs are such an idiotically managed club, with a new manager every 6 weeks, they are about as likely to trigger a release clause as I am to break to 100 metre record. Of all the clubs in the top half of the premier league they are the ones going backwards faster than any other and this new manager is about 5th choice. In amongst all the mess they have created for themselves the likelihood of them triggering a release clause for a player they sold to league 1 seems unrealistic to me personally. If they finish top half next season I will be amazed. Whisper it quietly but if any of the so called big clubs are in danger of relegation it is them. Loads on their plate in the next couple of years IMO.

Just my take on it, but I think Cirkin wanted a fresh start away from London after what happened to his dad. Maybe he has found a new home in our marvelous city by the sea and is very happy with his football and how things are going. He is a quality player and a switched on young bloke.

Spurs chucked in the buy back clause, probably thinking we were at best going to be midtable championship by the time it has a season left (now). They probably had a strong belief that meeting the £6 million would see Cirkin jump at the chance to go back to be in Premier league, even if it was for them to sell on to another Premier league club.

One thing they couldn't have foreseen (ignore the we are a better team on the pitch than they probably expected) the whole culture had the club has changed massively so that we are now a club that players already enjoying being at especially young players! We have young players signing for us saying how excited they are as we are a club who are playing young players, we have players like Cirkin signing new contracts stating the same thing and the spirit around the place seem great!

Spurs are ****ed if it is Cirkins choice imo they are rhe opposite of what he needs and what's he gets with us!

Aye you’re probably right there, plus spurs are a basket case of a club as long as those owners are in charge. Levy can’t help but get too involved.

Fully expect another carbon copy of a season for them.
