That's an interesting one I don't know I suspect he's going to slow down over the rest of his career though just like big Al

Shearer adjusted his game when his legs went and still managed to keep it up.

Shearer had two leg breaks in his career too and his goals in the 1st division before the prem replaced it aren't in the count

Shearer is the official top scorer in the Premier League

Impressive and the fact he had two broken legs in his career makes it more impressive.

He says he's doesn't regret not going to man united or Barcelona, but I bet he does although I think there's some truth in him saying he played for no9 and broke records playing for the club he supported and watched as a child in the stands.

Trying to think of any strikers we have signed that have been flops.

Falcao was one.

Forlan didn’t do too much but remains a cult hero.

Apart from those two I can’t think of any. Maybe Owen the scouse ****.

Hughes
Cantona
Cole
Yorke
Sheringham
Ole
Ruud
Saha
Rooney
Tevez
Berbatov
RVP
Hernandez
Martial
Ibrahimovic
Lukaku
Cavani
Ronaldo

Not a bad bunch!
You got to give Owen a shout for "that goal" against City plus he had been decent elsewhere.

****ing hell, we used to have a dreadful record for big name striker signings prior to Cantona.

Gary Birtles, Peter Davenport, Terry Gibson, Peter Beardsley, Alan Brazil, pretty sure there's more during Sexton and Atkinson days.

Was Brian McClair who came in and broke the 20 goal duck and then Eric followed him.

Everyone since been pretty good, yeah.
Forgot that ****er was ever here. Did he actually play?

We was known as the strikers graveyard back then, perceived "great" players just crumbled until Choccy

Just needs a steady head (or two) alongside him ... Ryan Bertrand at least should be back for the next game ... possibly Vestergaard too

Yeah, don’t get too excited about that. Ryan was a good player for us, I hope he enjoys his retirement. Most Saints fans will sleep easy knowing Vesty isn’t at the heart of our defence anymore.

Strikers are ultimately judged on scoring goals.

You started your nonsense saying ba was **** then shifted to saying the stats I showed you were in a farmers league, so I showed you his stats were better in the premier league only and now you've taken to talking out your ringpiece as usual

he is ****, that’s why he had a few seasons in England and the rest in farmers leagues. I rest my case, done and dusted. You then even went on to say you had only had one great striker after I mentioned Shearer and Sir les as great strikers for you.
You knock Sir les, you ****ing muppet, now that’s a great player. Ba, ****.

I couldn't care less if it hurts him or anyone else it's really just the truth isnt it?

There's been a few players I'd put in an elite category. Ronaldo, messi, Zidane and Ronaldinho imo are probably the best ever, but there's always going to be some old fart telling me best Pele and Maradona were better... I'm not convinced

Maradona is God the rest are just under cards

Firstly I just said he's got 43 from 99 in the premier league and secondly I have Ferdinand in the list I provided in the 1st place.

If 43 goals in 100 appearances is **** then you really are off your trolley mate.

You realise the list I replied to contained asamoah Gyan?

Yes if were talking greats then Shearer is way out in front of les

Maradona definitely is one of the best ever but I personally think sport moves on in terms of athletic ability and that Ronaldo is a whole new level of player

And that's your personal opinion which is a good thing.........I just don't agree with you on it......I would put messi above Ronaldo and all but that's my opinion and it means nowt

Tbf I provided a list Ronaldo messi Zidane ronaldino.... I might throw Henry in there too.

Messi doesn't score headers and that means Ronaldo can do things messi can't

It's impossible to be right but like you say we can have an opinion
