Trying to think of any strikers we have signed that have been flops.

    Falcao was one.

Forlan didn’t do too much but remains a cult hero.

Apart from those two I can’t think of any. Maybe Owen the scouse ****.

    Hughes
    Cantona
    Cole
    Yorke
    Sheringham
    Ole
    Ruud
    Saha
    Rooney
    Tevez
    Berbatov
    RVP
    Hernandez
    Martial
    Ibrahimovic
    Lukaku
    Cavani
    Ronaldo

    Not a bad bunch!

I'd probably put Martial and Lukaku in the underwhelming category. Surprised at the time inter paid so much for him considering you boys were desperate to get rid (similar with us and Morata the spanish pansy). Martial was an expensive youth signing (probs similar to rooney style) who started on fire but has gotten worse and worse each year. If you had got them at lower fees then it'd have been decent signings but the cost per performance probably go more on the flop side

Defoe is about 40 and he's still better than Rondon.

You have just reminded me actually. This is how good Jermain was for Sunderland

****ing have it up ya scumbags. I loved this one he scored at the scrapyard.

    This one was simply superb

His best premier league goalscoring figures were at Sunderland once we decided to remove him from playing at right back.

Don't ever change from being a clueless knacker when it comes to football <laugh>

Yeah we bid 20 odd, but at the time nufc was a top 4 club..

It was the Chelsea takeover that did for us... We were about to sign Drogba.. They bought half of Europe the next season, nufc Dropped to 5th and some thick Geordie ****s blamed Robson

****ing hell, we used to have a dreadful record for big name striker signings prior to Cantona.

Gary Birtles, Peter Davenport, Terry Gibson, Peter Beardsley, Alan Brazil, pretty sure there's more during Sexton and Atkinson days.

Was Brian McClair who came in and broke the 20 goal duck and then Eric followed him.

Everyone since been pretty good, yeah.
