he was always the option to stand in, I would expect him to get it full time if he does well.
Yep. I’ve got a feeling he will do well. He’s highly rated by all the players in the set-up, apparently.

I would’ve taken Toney but when Ange joined us he mentioned how he only wanted players that purely wanted to join Spurs and not just wanted to leave their current club. I respect it in a way but it also can potentially cost us some good players where frankly we all know money is the key factor in their signing.

I wouldn't place too much stock on that tbh, it's the kind of bullshit comment managers say to placate the fans. Unless you're Real Madrid then your club isn't going to be a footballers "dream move", all you can hope to be is the best move available to them at the time and then maybe they'll like it enough they want to stay.

Pretty much this. Real Madrid is the pinnacle for every player. All other big clubs are a stepping stone towards that dream move. Spurs would be a very good club to showcase their skills, especially with Ange at the wheel.

It's not about us being a dream move, it's that the player at this stage in their career wants to join Spurs and doesn't just simply want out of their club to the first bidder.

It's why we've gone for Solanke at seemingly a higher fee over Toney, the latter's better in my opinion and would be cheaper too but he's been ****ting on Brentford for months about wanting out, whereas multiple journos have mentioned how Solanke is "desperate to join Spurs". Dragusin also rejected a better offer to join Bayern in January because he gave his word he'd join us, probably needs his head checked but I'm not complaining.

Probably just saw which way Eric Dier was headed and went the other way.

Will be levels better than the Brazilian benteke imo

Liverpool will save that 20% for the Gordon bid

It's about £9m from the looks of it (as it's 20% of profit and they sold for £19m and this is now £65m). Handy but only 10-12% of a Gordon.

You hit the % sign by mistake I think

Said the same on our board, really wanted him at Spurs.

Don't think many realise how good he is but more importantly how good he's gonna get. If he steers clear of injuries he's gonna tear defences apart.

I wish him well playing 37 games over five years and making more money than he could ever have dreamed of.

Being linked with Wilfried Zaha on a season long loan from Galatasary ...apparently he's desperate for a return to the UK / Prem ...can think of worse signings tbf ... but he is 31now and I don't see where he would immediately fit in unless it's as a central striker ...

In a market where strikers aren’t easy to come by and we being Spurs….this is the best we can do tbh.

At least I can get behind him…that Toney seems like a ****..glad we didn’t pursue

not bothered about price tag that wasn’t the players doing

I expect him to hit 20+ goals for us this season

plus it’s the biggest club he’s played for in his life so I expect him to be well up for it
