City can confirm striker and Canary legend Grant Holt has joined Championship side Wigan Athletic on a 3-year deal for an undisclosed fee. on offical norwich twitter

Good luck to him.

We always knew this was on the cards and that if a good move closer to home came he would take it.

holt gone no more new strikers in we have rvw and becchio and thats it. we have just committed suicide by not signing a striker before holt leaves now what if we start to have trouble getting strikers in like Liverpool did last season and did not play that good.

Primark may be a good place to get some new pants after yours get wet!

There has to be more strikers coming in, DM and CH are not that stupid!

liverpool did it last season got rid of Andy Carroll because they thought they had signed a player then deal fell through and left them with 1 main striker to play the season untill january and you see they struggled alot.

A bit early to start wetting your pants isn't it? still well over a month and a half to sign a new striker or 2.

But Liverpool didn't have nearly 8 weeks of the window left!

Also where did Liverpool finish last season? but seriously, I don't get all the panic. There's plenty of time to sign a new striker.

he says he wants them before usa tour. i would say tomorrow we should have news of a signing of a striker or 2 as we where looking for 2 before holt left so that means we need 3 more now. our club struggled to score last season so what do you do i see get rid of 5-6 strikers then only one in how does that work. i know i'm going on but i don't see us signing hooper or ola tovien so thats 2 links gone fer news gone cold aswell not looking good we will end up with a last minute buy of some rubbish

First we got rid of all the players that didn't play (deadwood if you like) Guessing Holt wanted to go, so now we have the space and money and plenty of time to bring in new strikers.

We don't know every that is happening at the club and who we are looking at, but I'm confident we sign 2 more strikers which imo will be enough. But seriously, way, way too soon to be panicking.

i just looked the minimum strikers for every team in prem is 5 so that does mean 3 new ones needed. we put in a bid for hooper apparently and tovien thats before holt so there must be another one. only problem hooper not likley to join and not heard anything from tovien yet even though he got told to decide by end of last week. so do we need to start looking for 3 new ones and forget them 2. the fer deal is far from over he might say no aswell have we got other strikers and people we are looking at just in case or are we just consontrating on these. if ruddy goes that means we have to find a keeper who do u think would be good for us.

Not my suggestion, saw someone say it on twitter and I thought it's a good idea. Get Mark Schwarzer in on a free transfer, he's got a lot of experience and it would give us more time to look for a replacement. But I'm still clinging on hope that Ruddy will stay.

The logical and common sense to do is to stay calm, there's really no reason to worry about it now at this time.

Can someone please tell me what is meant by "a striker"? I'm desperately trying to identify the five "strikers" that Andy says Arsenal have (along with every other team in the league). Then there's Swansea: they've dispensed with Graham who I've heard described as a striker; does Michu count? And what about Liverpool? Do they really have ANY "strikers"? I gather Hooper is "a striker" (though I'm not sure), and since we are said to have two already, I imagine that may refer to RvW and Becchio. I also understand that Holty was a striker, but having 5 Holtys strikes (sorry) me as probably excessive. Is Pilkington " a striker", or Snoddy? I know that the 2 in teams that play 4:4:2 are said to be "strikers", and that the 1 in teams that play 4:2:3:1 is also said to be "the striker". But do teams playing 4:2:3:1 really need 5 of them? I really would like to know what I'm supposed to look out for when we are linked to this, that and the other player. <ok>
