There is a thread on the Hull board quoting Sky and the Mirror saying we are now in the box seat for Hooper. Could see this happening and Holty going the other way as the deal would seem to suit all parties.

swansea have widely-reported agreed a £10m fee for Bony, the vitesse arnhem ivorian coast striker. fair play to the swans, looks like a very good addition <ok>

Having already signed a replacement striker (Balde), would Celtic really also want Holty? I would think they'd rather have the £s. But wouldn't it be great to see Holty playing Champions League! <ok>

so we heard whispers (but nothing substantial) last week about norwich enquiring about dutch midfielder leroy fer but to be honest, i didn't feel we stood much chance in that race. now, it seems, a well informed reporter on everton believes norwich are leading the chase and could sign him as soon as next week! i cannot emphasise just how good this guy could be. sadly, fitness worries have been a major issue so far but he's already represented the dutch national team a few times and at only 23 would be one hell of a coup.

oh, and the hooper deal looks likely as well. no idea on price but there was decent information coming through last night that something was brewing, i think the mirror reported it this morning and now the bookies have slashed the odds. always felt hooper would end up here but we shall see how both stories develop over the coming days <ok>

What kind of player is fer? Not that i expect us to sign him, i'm always doubtful until full con'fer'mation from the club(sorry couldn't resist). But if there is any truth would be interesting to see what kind of player is in hughtons plans...

In his youth he got nicknamed De Uitsmijter (The Bouncer) by Feyenoord youth coach Jean-Paul van Gastel for his strong physical appearance. Other nicknames are Lerra[4] and Ferovic.[5] Cor Pot, coach of the Netherlands U21, compared Fer with Patrick Vieira. According to Pot both players show many similarities, on and off the field.[6]
