Not sure if this counts as a transfer news but Guardian is reporting that Man City are looking about GK coach Dave Watson, they are using Watsons previous and current work with Hart as the reason behind it all. Would be very unhappy if he went, think Ruddy has improved and Bunn was a very good stand in. Hope it's one of those putting 2 and 2 together and getting 5 jobs!
I also agree that Dave Watson has done a great job with the keepers. I just hope he sees that and continues his influence with Ruddy for City and for England. As for the ACM discussion, I think this is a crucial signing now that RvW is already on board. A good passer and deep lying playmaker with pace who can score goals and is defensively solid as well is essential. Howson showed a lot of promise in these areas in the final matches (Dowie's fulsome praise of his abilities was interesting), but we need another who can dictate play and create chances. After that it depends on whether CH sees Vaughan as enough for the fourth striker. The Daily Fail is talking about £7m for Hooper to compete with Sunderland and Newcastle. I think that is too much (£5m max) and City can do better abroad for that sort of money.
when i saw that hooper story, unless it's a different one, it linked him with us sunderland and saints. i was surprised about sunderland - forking out more money on strikers after wickham, fletcher and graham. i guess they might sell one of them if hooper comes in.
Apparently Wickham and Graham are being sold! Graham because he's not good enough and Wickham has an attitude problem!
is that what they are saying on the mackems board dave? shocking, graham has been there what 6 months. i think wickham could be good if given a run in the team.
Yes, that's on my friend Syd's forum, most of them think Wickham would be ok with a run in the team, I think they're quick to judge DG because of his Toon connections!
Well, well, well. The former Ipswich wonder kid has an attitude problem, what a surprise. Too much too young, he started to think he was the mac daddy without actually proving it first.
Clubs do have a lot to answer for. In any other job,you would get a kick up the arse from your work mates for acting the prat. Problem is,I suppose, that most of them are prats as well.
I sort of see where Yarco is coming from. Clubs do play a part in a players attitude. Look at Southampton Oxlade Chamberlain, Walcott, Bale and Lallana all are on huge wages for their age, yet are still as hard working, down to earth, modest and their priority is developing to be the best footballers they can. I get the impression football isn't about money to them guys. Luke Shaw said he wants to stick with Southampton, again to keep on developing rather than triple his wages sitting in Chelsea reserves. All those players kept their feet on the ground even though they had huge hype around them at a young age. It's that hype which I think makes young players arrogant and lose touch with progressing as a football due to a new found fortune from a big move/contract. No coincidence in my book. Although I don't know whether Wickham's attitude problem is down to Ipswich, I think he has probably got arrogant with all the hype he had at a young age. You could probably blame Sunderland just as much as Ipswich.
Total disbelief in one of the stories from today's Mirror - Carroll wants £100K a week to move to Wet Sham permanently - http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/liverpool-transfers-andy-carroll-wants-1932020. NO WAY is he worth that much.
I'm surprised Wacko wasn't a Wet Sham fan, I'm sure he'd have loved singing "I'm forever blowing Bubbles!"
