Why Brett Holman? He's 29 and only been at Villa a year, scoring once in 27 matches. I think we need a more productive winger than that who can play to RvW's strengths. Andreas Weimann seems a much better option in that he can play on the wing or as a striker. He's scored 7 goals in 30 appearances for Villa this year and would make a much better fit with RvW, IMO. He's also only 21. On another note, it seems that Malky wants to sign Barney on a permanent deal for Cardiff. Good move for all concerned, IMO.
The only reason I said Holman is cos we got linked with him a month or 2 ago, I'm not saying I want him. Weimann we havent got a chance of getting.
Just seen this on facebook. Don't know how many have been mentioned. http://www.ftbpro.com/posts/james.l...ies-are-linked-with?ref=facebook&team=Norwich
By looking at twitter it appears that a couple more lads have been released, these are Rian Carroll and Dominic St. Louis, nothing official yet but all the best to them.
In Maestro's article, I thought Tom Carroll looked interesting as a possible loan deal. Looks promising, and with CH's Spurs connections it could happen, without effecting the 25 man squad as he is under 21. I'd be surprised if the Neymar rumors are true, but then I was surprised by the RvW deal as well!
So from that article, I think it's Parker, Carroll, McManaman and Mollo who haven't been previously linked? I have to admit, I think that article looks like it was written by someone desperately trying to make a career in journalism based on twitter rumours, do you want the names added to the OP or not?
Looking through the list again, I think you might add Barnett to Cardiff to the outgoing list, as that seemed a reputable source (and logical as Barney was there on loan last year).
I mentioned Weimann a couple of days ago and as if by http://www.sunderlandecho.com/sport...-weimann-decides-aston-villa-future-1-5712455
I don't understand why Weimann would really want to move anywhere. Villa can offer a wage just as good as ourselves or Sunderland, and Villa have more potential to improve next season than Sunderland. Unless he's unhappy at Villa for another reason, I can't really see why he'd go elsewhere.
