Lots of talk about Walcott yesterday the Arsenal board even had a thread. Don't know if there's any truth in this one.

What are Walcott's stats for ball retention & pass completion? (I'll go look) Surely our owners will flinch at paying over £10m for another "established" English player?

Rumours of us signing Wallcot are hotting up.

    £15mill the fee apparently.

He would certainly add pace and energy to our front 3.

  5. Would rather get Adam Johnson, probably get him for that price and he wouldn't command the wages that Theo wants either <ok>

Was just reading a great article on Borini stats Vs our other strikers, and it shows that Borini plays best from the left and Suarez scored 100% of his goals last season as a central striker. So I think it makes perfect sense we are looking for an attacker for the right

Walcott is more tried and tested than Johnson.

I dont really see why we would want Walcott, hes pretty poor and we dont want Walcott and Downing in the same team they are both over rated and they are both scared of their own shadows.

He does offer a bit of a threat, a spark, on the wing.

He is a headless chicken half the time, but he's capable of moments of brilliance.

Yet Johnson has shown more quality. <ok>

  11. And he has shown he is not that great too. If it wasn't RVP scoring everything he hit last season, Theo's assist stats would be awful!

    Exactly...<ok>

Chelsea are buying plenty of attacking players...They're in for Cavani, some Brazillian called Oscar. With Marin, Hazard, Mata, Torres...and whoever else they've signed/already got I can see a lot of bench warming for a few quality players this season.

Chelsea have agreed in principal for Oscar and if they are linked to Cavani now, just wow with that much attacking talent.

Will that make Frank happy? That is a lot of talent and also a young brazilian Lucas Piazon (sp) who is up and coming through the ranks in that same position.

Will be interesting how matteo works all that out.

Will be if they are right above us in the league and we are pushing for a CL spot. Although I think they could be right up there but we shall see.

I think the papers are going a bit crazy about Dempsey, I have seen figures from 5 all the way to 12 and that he was supposed to sign like a week ago and now still waiting. Wonder if he is jsut a smokescreen for someone else?

A couple of decent reliable people on Twitter have said Walcott is jst agent talk to get a better offer from Arse or other teams involved to create competiton, although Ben Smith says there is interest but nothing more currently.

This window is hotting up a bit since late last week...not just from our perspective, but as a whole. KITT is leaking lubricant everywhere!

Sorry Bluff I was being a smart arse with the "wonder what Frank thinks" sentence.

Yes, it makes top three pretty much a certainty if arsenal don't keep RVP & Wiltshire doesn't come back to his best. Just can't see, even with additions Arsenal repeating the miracle one more time.

Still think they can more than compete with us. Shows how far we've yet to go.

Back to Chelsea; Of course; Di Matteo now has to do what AVB tried & sling out the old Guard but with Drogba gone he might just ask the FA to suspend Terry for 8 & them he'll only have Frank to deal with!

No worries Frank, that's why I gave some back <grr> <laugh>

I don't think they can handle not having Terry back there and I think they are mad ( and going a bit of the old Madrid route) in buying attacking talent after attacking talent but not strengthing the midfield or especially the defense. Who do they have back there that is reliable? Ivanovic and Cole for me. Terry is getting on, Luiz is good but not always tip top, then you have who? I think that could be their downfall come May if they are up there or battling for fourth.
