If we can persuade Aqua to stay, then it will already boost our midfield. I think he is a quality player who can play just behind the striker or occupy the space between the two holding mids and the forward 3. Borini and Ramirez would be two good additions as they can both play along the front line, which means they can interchange along with Suarez making us a lot more fluid. A criticism of last year was that we appeared far too static at times and slow in attack.
I would be quite happy with Borini, Allen, Dempsey and Ramirez Keep Aqua Out: Bellamy, Maxi, Cole, Adam & Downing
All signs point to Cole staying, Adam and Downing we shall see, I think Rodgers will have that eye on them in pre-season, but no point getting rid if we can;t get better players in.
Last week the Callejon rumours were going around with 19M thrown about (euros). Don't know if Madrid would sell. âI will not move,â he told AS. âI am very comfortable in Madrid. I know [Jose] Mourinho well, and he trusts me. There are many reasons why I want to continue.â
http://www.dailystar.co.uk/football/view/261527/Liverpool-give-star-a-Call/ Another player. Getting silly now...
Not a player for us but good for my country... Up and coming defender, will be a good one and I think can do much much better than Tim Ream with Bolton and could be better than Bocanegra, Onyewu, and DeMerit in the long haul.
According to a few sources, Argentine club Newell Old Boys have agreement in place for Maxi. Club is now waiting for LFC to release him.
I thought he would have fit the system but I can see where looking for younger players or players to break through and high wages.
We can't sign Allen since there is an agreement in place preventing Rodgers going for any of the Swansea players Also, as soon as I head this 'exciting signing' comment, I said it will be sign in the wrong light by most. There is too much of a variance on what people consider to be exciting.
I said this on the Joe Allen thread but people seemed to disagree. And I also agree with you on your second comment. I mean people say exciting players are people such as Cavani and Neymar but we all know we aren't going to attract that type of players. I mean who was Cisse before he went to Newcastle, same can be said for Jelavic before he went to Everton. I believe a few people on here said something on the lines of "he plays in the spl, how good can he be?" What I'm trying to get at is just because he's not a big name it doesnt mean he won't be any good and If we sign Borini I for one wont complain one bit.
Absolutely. I think Rodgers meant it would be an exciting player to watch (how can you not be excited about a striker that scores goals?) rather than an exciting name IMO
Definitely. Let's wait and see, personally I'd be happy if we signed Borini and Dempsy this week as long as we look to bring in 1 or 2 more players.
Dempsey to sign. http://www.nesn.com/2012/07/sources-clint-dempsey-close-to-signing-deal-to-join-liverpool.html
I suppose if Swansea wanted to sell a player then we would be allowed but this link seems to suggest they don't want to sell either so makes my point more valid
I think the only real chance we have of signing him is if another club bids for him, then we can have a bidding war with them if we were to sign him. I've just seen on SSN that BR has said that if he wants to sign a Swansea player he'll pick up the phone and speak to Huw Jenkins about it as they have a good relationship.
