IMO our owners know that money was wasted last season and they are more cautious with how much is going to be spent this time round. And you can't blame them for that. We have freed a lot of money on letting players go either out on loan or permanent deals so there is money there just that we ain't letting the world of football know

I think everyone will agree that we paid over the odds on Carroll and the owners don't want that anymore

This is what I think too. Cautious all over. More "lets see what the manager can do for a year before we start handing out the 20 million cheques again." Whether this is the right approach or not remains to be seen but understandable; especially since as has been pointed out, the next splurge might actually have to be with "their" cash lol...

Surely he has proven something by getting rid of the **** from last season.

The Liverpool Scout (writes some very good articles) calculates the impact of our signings and sales - we're now saving £325,000 p/week in wages = £16.9m p/year

Why do we leave it so late for these English players who are going to cost a lot more? Why not see about what is out there? Pierre Aubumeyang from St. Etinne can score goals and add pace up front, would cost a lot less but we seem keen to keep it local and after players with inflated price tags.

@dani37pacheco: Rumors about me going to milwall are not true. I will let you know where I'm off to by end of today.

Thank you for message.

So he's off as well.

I think it is clear we are only going to get Dempsey or sturridge. Kind of looking at who other teams are getting and wondering if I should put them in my fantasy team or not. <ok>

Hugo Lloris is at Spurs right now, that looks to be done then as well.

Getting a bit green at the moment at some of their buys, also worrying for us it should be noted.

Bit of an anti-climax, signing either at this stage will mean they are vastly over-priced. Although both are better than the players we have let go so I would be pleased in that respect

Berbatov at Fulham, wonder if he will be playing day in and out? Could be good for fantasy prem lol.

The odd thing is supposedly we still havent made an offer for Dempsey obviously we enquired a while back but never come back with an offer even today we havent offered anything. Do we actually want him?

Andy Carroll is one. And because of Carroll will Nolan get a good amount of goals like he did at Newcastle from his knockdowns.

He has to prove to FSG that his signings are better. Think Allen has already proved himself. (Then... Kenny had Suarez)

Borini has been really poor so far (early days yet so could become good). Sahin and Ass haven't had a real chance yet.

FSG won't know if his signings are good or not until they see how well they do.

Rodgers is probably still on probation for them as far as they are concerned. After Kenny burnt them they're going to be cautious.
