He’s gonna have absolute murder today from Liverpool fans. Anfield Watch in particular will certainly be checking in, if they haven’t already:emoticon-0102-bigsm
If its Isak your on about I don't understand Edwards distress. Its been known by many journalists since early December that Isak was delaying contract talks after Stavely left and wanted out. I've even posted this since January and I'm not directly in the know but was told this back then.

Took the day off to spectate, and 2 deals done before I’d have started? Poor show, fuming (jokes…).

So, both signings feel a bit ‘**** or bust’ but also the upside of them could be huge.

Brobbey, me and scout discussed few months back. Growth spurt seemed to take away from him but there’s also the mitigation of some personal issues and a move can sometimes lift those.

If we unlock ‘breakthrough Brobbey’ he could be immense, last season Brobbey is Altidore 2.0.

Given the clubs ability to rebirth a player we assume we get option 1 and he do well.

Geertruida was exceptional at times for Feyenoord and was a big sale, hasn’t done great at Leipzig but they have been going through a changing time, and had a poor season or 2 overall.

He has 17 caps for Holland and over 120 games for Feyenoord so the lad can clearly play.

Both would surely hit the ‘top good for the Championship’ marker and as such I’ll assume are good additions.

The fact Geertruida can cover 3 positions makes it look potentially savvy.
Noooooooooooooooooooo

Noooooooooooooooooooo

You know though mate, Altidore was a disaster as a striker but he certainly wasn’t a disaster as a player. He was nearly there.

He did some great stuff, it just didn’t involve what he was meant to do, scoring goals.

We got Defoe for him so the thought process is that if he doesn’t work we somehow swap him for the best striker in Holland, whoever that is in 2 years <laugh>

Couldn’t happen to a nicer bloke. Worth noting that Edwards seems to be pretty universally disliked on the national circuit, so it’s not just safc fans that think he’s a tit. Bit of a joke it seems.:emoticon-0102-bigsm

My god you can already see today is gonna be wild on the transfers.

Sancho to Villa looks like one that could work out.

We need them outgoings but I don’t believe Lucumi dies because of Geertruida and I still think there’s a shot at Bakwa.

bakwa is the one, be lovely to think blueco would throw us a bone after the Guiu agreement (wishful thinking probably)

Forget Lucumi imo. Bologna have priced us out of the move hence we’ve gone for this Dutch lad.

Seems likely but not definite.

What’s potentially changed that is Sir Omar Alderete.

We clearly wanted the balance of a left sided CB and Lucumi was target number one.

We speculated Alderete was good. The fact he was in the La Liga TOTS told us he was good, but at the low fee he looked like potential ‘back up’

He isn’t that though is he. He’s waltzed into the PL one of those that instantly belongs there. He’s a strong defender, he’s calm, he is comfortable on the ball and he can pass it.

He is another version of Lucumi. We got him at a pinch because of the wildly different financial situations at the 2 clubs.

If Lucumi is worth 3 Alderete then we were never getting him as he was going Madrid or Bayern or PSG.

We don’t need be held to ransom we have somehow landed one of the best LCB in the league for a 3rd of the cost of a championship winger.

If it’s not clear, I love Alderete.

If we only get one more, I hope it’s winger.

If it’s Bakwa or Harvey I’ll have a right arm like a wrestler come the end of the day.

Alderete has been excellent so far, tbh so have most of our signings.

I think Alderete being first choice LCB means the club aren’t pushing massively for Lucumi, think the club would be happy bringing in this Dutch defender and be done at the defence. Likes of Alese & O’Nien can be emergency back up too.
