i know nowt about football but in that first half today i dont think mayenda offered enough
im not trying to be critical but im trying to look at how we performed
thought we had enzo and talbi wide and the midfielder who would get forward was diarra. Mayenda had the one turn on the half way line but there wasnt enough general play between the midfield and defence from him. Feel like we need the forward to be more involved in that space whether its connecting play, holding it up, bringing other runners into the game. Is tht a stupid assessment upon viewing
could see mayenda potentially being used better as a winger this year. wasn't really in the game today, until he come deep for the ball and done that turn and ran at the back line,
Yep I've said a few times i see him as a winger at the minute. Mayenda is good on the ball, but struggles with his back to goal at the minute. I think he could be a really good winger for us.
I think that’s fair. I still think from our discount signings he’ll for the highest but he isn’t ready to be put first choice 9 most weeks. He needs 3 or 4 chances to score 1 at this point and as you say he doesn’t help bring the best out of his fellow forwards. He’s just got things to learn and he will.
I wonder with Trey and apparently Abdullahi going out for the season we might go for a CF. RLB made a comment in his presser about how strong the competition will be in that position. Both Mayenda and Isidor can also play wide. Not easy to find an elite CF mind

I don't think we will sign another CF, we might get another winger. 3 CFs for a team who generally only plays 1 up front is enough
Once we sign openda, Luciano and Amad on loan, is it ok to dust off your passport…..asking for a friend
With Reg comments about Wilson out wide and with it looking more like Mayenda will do more of a job coming in off the right, may be that we pivot and a striker saves us a signing.

I'd be ecstatic with that. Lucumi plus 1 of the others would leave me more than happy though.
I don't think I'm too picky on whether we need a striker or a winger/wide forward, but I do think we need 1 more up there.
