bournemouth only want to loan him whereas we’d have to buy him.

Tbf, we seem to have been after Disasi for quite a few weeks so it's not just a reaction to the injury on Saturday. Seelt is likely to go out on loan so we'd just have Ballard as a specialist RCB.Disasi is surely an alternative to Lucumi. We’d have simply too many defenders if we had both - and far too much money sat on the bench and in the stands. Ballard as fourth choice centre half? The response to a potential 6 week injury cannot be to lash £15m on another player. Sunderland afc cannot sustain that behaviour.
No, he wouldn't, he would be battling for RCB with Disasi. Alderete, and Lucumi would be LCB. Ballard could be injured for a while, we need quality. This is to survive in this league. Seelt is not near PL quality and the past couple games showed that to meDisasi is surely an alternative to Lucumi. After Konates performance in the last two games I'd be surprised if this doesnt get doneYou must log in or register to see media
It wouldn’t work like that. It would be a hierarchy - particularly as lucumi has played left or right. Tbh this constant statement that we have to do this to survive is utterly facile. We don’t need redundancy after redundancy to survive. This summer is a one-time spend. We can’t afford to do this every season. Given what we already have - and the areas we still need to strengthen - it would be bad squad building to get both. That’s before we consider if such a squad would even be one that safc could sustain beyond a season. No, he wouldn't, he would be battling for RCB with Disasi. Alderete, and Lucumi would be LCB. Where is all this evidence of us not being able to do these things coming from can I ask? You'd assume if we stopped up we'd only need to maybe sign 2-3 players at most anywayIt wouldn’t work like that. It would be a hierarchy - particularly as lucumi has played left or right. That's fair, I just wonder how bad Ballard's injury actually is, if it's not too bad then yeah we will likely only sign one I reckonI admire your optimism but I can’t see us spending 30 million on a pair of centre halves, after buying Alderete and Mukiele.
you can have four/five wingers and rotate between them with starters and finishers. Teams don’t tend to sub centre halves and prefer a settled pair. I could see us with Ballard, alderete, new lad, L09, and cover from Alese and reinildo/mukiele.
hope I’m wrong and you are right!
I don't think we're in a position, yet, to have two PL quality players for every position and,we have to recognise that good players can improve loads with top class coaching and by playing with better players around them.Seelt could easily become more accomplished by playing with the likes of Alderete etc.No, he wouldn't, he would be battling for RCB with Disasi. The club actively want to loan Seelt out and i'm not sure we have the luxury to take a risk like that, especially after all this spending already to try and stay up. Having a CB who isn't ready is asking us to ship goals week after week IMO.I don't think we're in a position, yet, to have two PL quality players for every position and,we have to recognise that good players can improve loads with top class coaching and by playing with better players around them.Seelt could easily become more accomplished by playing with the likes of Alderete etc.
I cant see any world where either Alderete or Lucumi are benched personally if fit. Having one of them as a backup in case of injury doesnt seem a good model to me. If both are only LCB I would stick with Alderete and use the £25m or whatever in attacking positions. No, he wouldn't, he would be battling for RCB with Disasi. Alderete, and Lucumi would be LCB. Watch his games for Villa last season.I know next to nothing about this lad --- why are some saying he's poor?
