I note he has the same agent as Fatawu. Wonder if the link to Uche came from the agent trying to get his other client some publicity when we were sniffing round Fatawu.

If Ballard is out I think we’d be more likely to utilise the loan market than buy two defenders for 30 odd million each.

looks like Singo is off to Galatasary if you believe the twitter rumours. Surprised we haven’t been linked with him more recently. Younger than Lucumi or Disasi so more likely to have resale value.

Disasi and Lucumi are both very concrete sources now so it looks like we are going down that road

Corriere dello Sport indicated that there are two options with Jhon Lucumí. "If the 27-year-old center refuses to stay: a hard line, fulfilling the remaining two years of his contract, or a soft line, trying to please Lucumi and give him the green light," the Italian media said. Bologna's concern is also to find a replacement for the Colombian in these few days.

Simone Rondani, agent of the Colombian defender, publicly asked that everything be resolved soon and that everyone win. "This year, since the beginning of the season, the message has always been clear on both sides: if the right offer had arrived, Jhon would have had the opportunity to transfer. Therefore, I hope that Bologna can reflect on the issue and find a balanced and positive solution for everyone.”

The English club would already have the word of the Colombian defender.Sunderland's last offer was 28 million euros. If the transfer is successful, Lucumí will receive a salary of three million euros. For now, the English team is far from the situation and only hopes that at the summit, the player's agent can reach an agreement with the Italians.

Sounds like the main decision will be tomorrow. After him and his agent publically pushing for it I think it gets done. No point keeping a player with his mind elsewhere while getting a 30m offer for him

Reckon we get both Disasi and Lucumi seems like mental depth with alderete and Mukiele available not to mention Reinildo and ballard and 09 if they can stay fit. with the players we've brought in I genuinely think we are gonna switch to a back 3 in certain games.

This is one of the reasons why I think we get 3 or 4 more in. Imagine a team that plays how we do, but with the flex to also go 4-4-2 or 3 at the back.

He’ll struggle to get on the bench.

Is that because they’re high off the ground and he can’t lift himself up because of his knackered shoulder?

more nervous for this week than at any point so far I think, getting the last couple transfers right could be massive.

I’m not nervous as such but pace at the back and a game changer forward will go a long way

I can’t see 3 or 4. If we sign Lucumi and a winger for example

    our bench could be

Patto, Lucumi, Mukiele, Masuaku, Le Fee, Rigg, Isidor, Guiu, New Winger

that already leaves out Neil, O9, Mundle, Roberts, Cirkin etc

I agree with the positions you have stated but I think we also need more in CM regardless, as its weak and not complimentary of each other if any get injured.

I think people forget there is squads and personalities to manage (let alone financials and PSR restrictions) in all this.

Easy to say I want more and more and more but overtip that balance and it can be hugely detrimental to squad harmony and motivation. I already don’t know how they’re managing it.

Also a problem with doing your business early, a lot of fans are never satisfied and always want more. There’s a lot of people elsewhere on social media demanding at least four more and are angry that the noise coming out of the club is suggesting only two more being a priority. Goodwill from the volume and quality of the recruitment already done is short lived. Like spoilt bairns.

Yeah, I guess. We also have to factor in injuries too though. We were running at a pretty steady 6 players out injured for most of last season bar a few games. Maxed out at 12 players out at one point.
