so a lot of other fans are now starting to see what we say about the mags..

loads hope they fail and go bust

I think a lot already thought it.

They’ve long been seen by the fans of the genuine big clubs being baffled by them classing themselves as one of them (when it suits, little old Newcastle when they talking about cartels etc….)

Now rest of league is seeing it.

Sets a bit of a precedent if the worst happens this season too. If all of our young players end up yielding a min £10m profit on sale - even if they don't make a standout impact - we'll be well protected.
The main reason I wanted promotion last season. If we’re to go down (and there’s still a good chance it happens), we’ll be in such a stronger position than we were a year ago. The future is bright

great point. One game in and I can already tell that we won’t lose money on sadiki, talbi, adingra, alderete, roefs or diarra.

I don't have a particular hatred of Leeds, don't put words in my mouth

I don't need to

<laugh>
I've thought it through and I don't care about how Leeds can help us avoid relegation ... balls to that, I want then to get battered. Horrible supporters, horrible manager and horrible club ...

There's been a tendency this season, from Leeds supporters, to jump on every Sunderland signing as 'too expensive' which is now gradually becoming 'they're overspending and heading for trouble'.

An equal tendency for some Sunderland supporters to assume every player you sign turned Leeds down

You've inadvertently done exactly that with your only other post, "As the buying club, don't forget to add between 5% and 10% to the total outlay for agent fees.

Not in the slightest, the poster was doing some figures and maths and had possibly left up to £16m out of the equation, it doesn't mean I think you are in financial trouble, more a dig at the state of football and how agents are part of the bigger problem

Callum Doyle going to Wrexham for £8m. Nice signing that but not sure he fits ParkyBall, not sure Parkinson will be their manager next season anyway.
I dont mind Doyle but the money they've spent is mental for the level and I still don't think they are any closer to getting promoted

I get they are probably aiming for mid table finish on season 1 in the league but to sornd around 30 million in that league you should be expecting promotion or at least challenging the playoffs

Doyle at least has room to grow unlike their other signings, who are decent Championship players only

Just feel they've wasted a lot of money over the last few years and seem to have zero forward planning.

We should be an example of what can be achieved, spend money on players who are likely to improve, add in cheaper veterans to support and then use the loan market

I hope Wrezham fall flat on their faces this year, haven't been massively impressed with their recruitment over the years

Hats off to them for the money they get through sponsorships tho

The transfer window seems to have quietened down for all teams, as they take stock of what they have and have left to do

Probably until next week when teams are both panic buying and selling - On that note I am glad we have done the bulk of our buying early on with just maybe 1 or 2 more to do and the fact our surplus players are on low wages will both help to shift them and not cripple us if they have to hang about
