2 Sat 8/23/25 Burnley Draw
3 Sat 8/30/25 Brentford Win
4 Sat 9/13/25 Crystal Palace Loss
5 Sat 9/20/25 Aston Villa Loss
6 Sat 9/27/25 Forest Loss
7 Sat 10/4/25 Man Utd Loss
8 Sat 10/18/25 Wolves Win
9 Sat 10/25/25 Chelsea Loss
10 Sat 11/1/25 Everton Draw

I think we could get 8 to put us on 11 after 10 games, although I cant help have a feeling we will manage at least 1 upset against one of the "big Boys" this year and wouldnt be surprised if we get at point against Man Utd

I just can’t see us losing 4 on bounce. I fancy us to get something from Forest just because of way they play I think it suits us.

We don’t know how good we are yet. Saturday was amazing but what we did see was that teams are going to squeeze us, and teams move ball so fast.

We will do the same though. It’s speculative right now.

All it takes is a couple of the signings to fly and we are suddenly not miles away from Forest and Palace.

We are right on the line of being well above relegation. If Mayenda and Wilson is a sign of things to come rather than a one off, we stay up.

I’m thinking Wolves when they signed players like Neto and Jota.

Nowt to say Talbi for example can’t emulate that. Diarra I think we’ve seen enough he is made for PL.

We just need 1 or 2 to fly and the whole side will.

Already fearless on Roefs, Reineldo, Alderete, Ballard, Hume, Xhaka and Diarra.

That’s a great place to be newly promoted.

Then Adingra has already done sporadic bits in the league, Sadiki looks like he will improve every half, and Mayenda and Wilson both on the board already.

We aren’t Ipswich, who looked tidy but short at times. We look ‘lower end of ok’ and a couple finding their feet from their will rocket that.

Confidence is there and growing for me. I have us staying up as it stands.

Not saying you're wrong but, how can you tell?
From the games I’ve seen him play. Hard to judge him on pre season because he has been out for so long but I didn’t particularly rate him in the championship. He was getting completely overhyped in that period. Obviously Regis agrees because he left him out of the squad Saturday.

Forest is one of the teams i am more worried about us playing as they will run as much as we do, same with Palace. Id be over the moon to get a point at both of their places.

We are in a great position, there is no doubt about that and im trying not to get carried away, but with the discipline we play we will cause teams serious problems. Mayenda and Isidor have proved to themselves and us they can score in the premier league, Guiu will have to work hard to get into the team.

Its coming together rather well indeed

I'm absolutely certain we've got a crunch coming. But tbf I'm also fairly certain that the club will have thought about it. When foreign lads are maybe half the price of the homegrown ones, it makes it almost prohibitive. It should mean that as a club with a good academy we should be well-placed. However, if I look at our current picture it may be that the vast majority of them (both current and next gen) aren't quite good enough - apart from Rigg who is probably too good to be a long-term contributor. We cannot afford to be pushed into having to make overpriced purchases just to keep the quota correct. We have to be smarter than that. I just hope that we're not being too Ghisolfi led - or at least he is more domestically focused and less Francophone than he appears currently.
The club will already know about all of this and will have planned accordingly. We need a squad good enough for the PL, and that's what we have done and are trying to do, as the squad was miles behind in most areas. I'm sure we will pick up some younger English talent in the future that could be more of a squad player that can break their way into the first team eventually, so it will come at a lower fee, and this could help the homegrown quota.

We won't see a window like this one again. This was about drastically and quickly upskilling. We've had to shop abroad to get value considering the volume of players needed.

If we stay up I'd expect our net spend next summer to be roughly £0-20m only as I'd expect one or two large sales and only a few quality additions. Quality over quantity. And at that point we may be able to afford more of a focus on UK based incomings.

We aren't going to be spending £100m year on year, even if we financially are able to. PSR won't allow it.

I think there's some portaloos round the back that we could look at selling to a holding company for £100m next summer to finance the next window. We could sell the car park at the AOL for an additional £50m to the owners as well. I think that's what you do in the prem.

100% we should only be looking at maybe 1-3 incomings next season really just adding a couple bits of quality to the squad

I'm sure the club isn't as handwavey as some of our fans on this subject. This is a critical part of shaping the squad for our continued success in the PL. We cannot afford to just manana it to next summer. We need to have plans for it now.

The only players I can see leaving are Alese, Cirkin and the others loaned out or kept around

We'll be okay this season as we won't shift them all. We may end up needing to name some fodder to the squad if we manage to shift the better ones though. That isn't ideal. The real problem comes next summer. At present there are only three homegrown outfield players who I am relatively confident will be in the squad for 26/27 for various reasons. We're gonna need to double that at least. We must make finding/developing solid, long-term homegrown squad contributors an absolute priority in the near future.

Our next 9 games are

2 Sat 8/23/25 Burnley
3 Sat 8/30/25 Brentford
4 Sat 9/13/25 Crystal Palace
5 Sat 9/20/25 Aston Villa
6 Sat 9/27/25 Forest
7 Sat 10/4/25 Man Utd
8 Sat 10/18/25 Wolves
9 Sat 10/25/25 Chelsea
10 Sat 11/1/25 Everton

Looking at them, Burnley and Brentford give us a hell of chance to build on the 3 points Saturday, would take 4 points but would love 6

Really need 6 points from the next 2 games because what follows will be a difficult run where points will be difficult to pick up. If we win 3 on the bounce the lads will have confidence going into those games and we’ll have picked up the points from games we should be targeting. A couple of draws from the 4 following fixtures against Palace, Villa, Forest and United would be a bonus. Then target Wolves and Everton at home as winnable games.
