The fact Bellingham was over €30m, Rigg will likely be more again, Gittens €50m, Southampton want €45m for Dibling and Liverpool want €55m for Elliot proves just that. Young English players are massively overpriced. Imagine going into a PL season and you’d spent €95m on two wingers for it to turn out to be Jamie Gittens and Tyler Dibling. Mental.
Do you think Bellingham was overpriced? I think Dortmund got the better end of that deal personally. I know PSR and all that is important, but in todays market Bellingham is very much a 30m player. That boy goes to the very very top.

English value exists mate. Tyler Morton at £15m is an illustration. I think Dewsbury Hall is another example.

I think we have to remember English players are amongst the best. Back to back Euro winners. If there is this tax (which I am not sure, it is because English players are top level) I am not sure the likes of Cresswell, who was for me the best defender in the tournament, carries as much of a tax as some would think.
Yep, there is definitely plenty of talent. Cresswell an excellent example, I agree he was outstanding in the U21s. But often, once they have done a bit here, especially in the PL, their price explodes. Southampton want £50m for Dibbling! They won't get it, but...

It would be easier to get English proven players in to help. But it is largely just not feasible.

Aye same we just deciding HOW early. We deffo want to watch the Toon match as we can’t see past a Villa win. Do we do 10 or 1130 <laugh>
I think I’m out at 9 for a breakfast somewhere then through to town for 11:30/12. Watch the Mags gets stuffed, hopefully

Agree on Jobe. Sky is the limit there.

I think we will get the full release clause though, probably more in the end. And without that clause, I doubt he'd have signed his second deal here

Tbf Southampton can ask for £50m all day. I am sure they sell at much lower plus add ons.

Honestly just think we have talent in abundance. Not always are they priced out of a move. Macatee looks reasonably priced. I would gomas far as to say Elliott will be worth every bit of £35-£40m. I thought Quansah was a bit pricey at 30odd but then have seen some of the prices quoted for lads from France and Italy and am not so sure. I am sure folk said Alex Scott was rich at £20m. Talent and value is there for me.

Leverkusen fans saying they robbed Liverpool for Qansah already.

Leverkusen know a CB.
