He’s had about 3-4 good goalscoring seasons.Bit torn on Dovbyk tbh. Personally think €35m for him is too much. I’m all for wanting a proven striker but he’s had one decent season in a top league and he’s 28. His career was pretty underwhelming until he had his goalscoring season at Dnipro then went to Girona. Not saying he couldn’t score goals here because he likely will but for that kind of money I’m wanting more tbh, he’ll have no resale value either. Suppose if those goals keep us up this season his fee is more than worth it though.
Took the words right out of my mouthI genuinely think signing a proper striker could be the difference between us staying up or getting relegated. Not convinced either mayenda or Wilson are ready for prem and haven't seen the Chelsea kid but its a massive ask to expect him to be the answer. Love mayenda btw but he's still very raw. Not convinced Wilson will cause premier defenders many problems. I'd sell him if we signed another
I wasn’t as bothered but I do think we need a striker similar to the players we’ve signed elsewhere pedigree wiseAm I in the minority by not being overly fussed about us signing another striker?
I don't entirely disagree but there's a few things I'd push back on for Dovbyk. He was outstanding for Girona. Top scorer in La Liga for someone not from Barca or Madrid is much more than decent. He was quite good when he was younger but picked a bad move then went to Ukraine to reignite his career but that was disrupted by the invasion so its not as unusual as it looks really. Also, if he ends up being a 10-15 goal a season striker then we can probably get our money back (more or less) if we sell him in 2 years when he's 30. I don't think we'd pay above 30m euros though.
Re Bradley, I queried last night on here if he gets stuff right and the opinion was yes (some), no (the keepers), and worse (he's s hit)... I take it there was a twitter battle last night?Top of the morning to you all. Seems that lots of people got carried away last night and it's had a knock on effect on socials.
Bradders deleted his Twitter.
Others getting into lengthy exchanges and arguments about information etc.
Certainly been there with all that type stuff.
Can not please everyone all the time and the football information / rumours world changes far to quickly for 100% accuracy.
Keith has a direct line to KLD these days so that's why it's him who gets the 100% confirmation scoop. Other local people shouldn't have believed everything that they were given by some on Twitter at the time, as things change quickly, and they did.
Let's see what today brings, least we get our centre half today!
Verbal agreements may not mean anything from a legal perspective but they mean everything to an individual. These are people at the end of the day and have to be treated with respect, contract or not. As mentioned in the post above, it's something we get and excel at.

Im over the moon that the Saudi Nayshun have shot themselves in the footOfcourse they mean something to an individual. However they work for a business, and the business will always look after its self.

I was quite content. I didnt particularly want another striker. Then I heard a super duper one was imminent. Now we arnt after one. Now I'm gutted and we are now relegation certainties.![]()
Sometimes the best way a business can look after itself is by looking after its people/employees (ie managing expectations and not making promises if you can’t/won’t keep them) and sending the right messages in that regard to future employees.Ofcourse they mean something to an individual. Couldn't have put it better myself.Sometimes the best way a business can look after itself is by looking after its people/employees (ie managing expectations and not making promises if you can’t/won’t keep them) and sending the right messages in that regard to future employees.
Especially when the people/employees are that businesses' main and most important and valuable assets.
Keane not the wow I was hoping forNot overly keen on Kean - he'd be an upgrade but he's not the one for me.
Dovbyk would be class.
