That is something the club have done very well I think which is standing by the reported ‘gentleman’s agreements’ we made with the likes of Clarke, Jobe etc.

Reflects well on us and I’d imagine would entice talented players to come to us knowing they won’t be held back from a big move and banned from the family BBQ.

Players like Clarke seem to leave on good terms and their team mates seem genuinely pleased for them.

By the same token they speak highly of the club and want us to do well.

Perhaps I'm a bit 'rose tinted' but the atmosphere, around the club, seems great and you can pick that up on the way they happily involve themselves in the daft video clips and games that the media team put out ...

... the atmosphere in the Newcastle dressing room must be difficult to cope with at the moment.

There's a knock on effect and the players will all be talking about the state of the club.

Promised moves or pay rises should never be verbal imo, get something on paper with a signature on it otherwise there's no point, especially when the reported agreement was with someone that is no longer there mate. But yes, I agree a contract doesn't mean a person can treat a person how you like, but on the other hand, that contract which he willingly signed for a set amount of years has made him a very rich young man.
Verbal agreements may not mean anything from a legal perspective but they mean everything to an individual. These are people at the end of the day and have to be treated with respect, contract or not. As mentioned in the post above, it's something we get and excel at.

Top of the morning to you all. Seems that lots of people got carried away last night and it's had a knock on effect on socials.

Bradders deleted his Twitter.
Others getting into lengthy exchanges and arguments about information etc.

Certainly been there with all that type stuff.

Can not please everyone all the time and the football information / rumours world changes far to quickly for 100% accuracy.

Keith has a direct line to KLD these days so that's why it's him who gets the 100% confirmation scoop. Other local people shouldn't have believed everything that they were given by some on Twitter at the time, as things change quickly, and they did.

Let's see what today brings, least we get our centre half today!
Yeah someone mentioned striker and it spread pretty quick

think the original story though still hasn’t changed no idea of player or position just a supposed ‘big’ signing being kept secret

Hi-De-Hi Campers!

Landed in Wales yesterday for a few days Golf. Sat in the hottub before heading out in an hour or so for round 1 of 4. Bit of an old boys championship. For info, my form stinks <laugh>

Will share any ITK as it comes from the valleys. Heard we are interested in a couple from Merthyr.

Having spent a fair bit of time around Merthyr and the surrounding areas, can i respectfully request we dont bring any of them here unless its to keep the local Spoons busy at 9am in the morning :emoticon-0102-bigsm

They have to sell him. They’ll end up making a loss on him the way it’s going on. <laugh>

£100m was a very fair offer imo…:emoticon-0103-cool:

Food and drink?

My thoughts on Isak, they should sell him but he's not handling the situation well at all. Newcastle have to watch out tho, they can't keep putting up barriers to stop players wanting to leave. They did it with their staff as well, Dan Ashworth when he wanted to go to United Newcastle put up loads of barriers

It'll def put some players off joining as they want to be able to move on to bigger clubs at some point

Them constantly blaming PSR is embarrassing, they agree to vote it in but aren't doing things to maximise what they can do with PSR. Spending 20 million on a 3rd choice GK they didn't want is just one way they've f**ked up with PSR

Anyway f**k them

Now get our beautiful no-nonsense south american CB announced

We seem to stand by our players more, like the one's who get injured, and offer them a deal (Sanderson?? the CB, and I'm sure there was another).

What I'm also noticing is some average players like Max Power and Mitrovic going to Saudi on high wages. They seem to be coming back now. Mitrovic was rumoured to be on £400k per week... how are these players going to reintegrate themselves back into our league? Power, 32 years old, is now captain of league one side Bradford, good luck to him, the Saudi experience seems to have worked for him. Im not sure Mitrovic will have a happy ending (nearly 31).
