Sunderland are close to completing the signing of Getafe defender Omar Alderete, according to Sky Sports Italy's Luca Bendoni.
The deal is said to be worth €12m, with all parties now expecting a move to happen.

Jesus that's bad. As manager how can he say he's not party to any discussions involving HIS players? Does he not know that it makes him look clueless, out of the loop and with no control on what's going on with his players? Especially as there's NO director of football/sporting director or CEO there to be in charge of any discussions. He's either clueless and useless or a liar. Neither is a good look for him.
Edit. Just a thought, as he has his fanboys in the media, could he be wanting out and using this as a means of walking out on the mags on the grounds of being undermined and his fanboys defend him?
