I was told a fortnight back and just left a small post on here, I doubt if anyone noticed. The lad who told me insisted it was true and, tbf, told me Brentford want Dan Neil …

If we’d been promoted with the side we had, then lost Watson, Jobe and Mepham we'd have been worried.

Signing the fantastic players we have, Xhaka, Diarra, Adingra, etc has made us look down on this latest signing …

… but he's a PL level defender, left footed and ready to go, amazing how quickly perceptions change.

Liverpool used 8 defenders in the league last season. We basically only used 7. 12 frontline defenders in the squad is bananas.

As I've said on twitter I'm a bit confused by the Masuaku signing as I'm not sure how you keep 3 left backs happy if they're all fit. I know a lot of people think three left backs in the squad is the right number but I've always been a "2 full backs on each side plus one who can play both" kinda guy. I was expecting Huggins to be the "play both" guy and so was expecting another right back in, not another left back. I know Reinildo can play centre back as well but I would like us to sign 2 centre backs and make that moot.

I do think it indicates Cirkin may be off by the end of the window personally.

In the short term however it at least slightly aleviates the immediate centre back need as Reinaldo can fill in there.
