Never said they are laid back and not pushing, they’ve done very well in every other area of the squad and acted decisively.

But since the play off final we’ve only had two fit senior centre halves, one of which would likely have been 5th choice last season in the championship.

There will be quality players available as shown with our business so far. I’m confident we’ll get one done before West Ham.
Would have to sign next few days as would need work permit which can take a while

Having Seelt or Huggins in our starting 11 on the opening game of the season is a glaring weakness that I would expect to be targeted by the opposition.

I'm delighted with the business the club has done so far and I don't blame them for not getting a centre back in yet.

It doesn't change my opinion though, that we need one urgently and it could cost us points early in the season not to have at least one new one in place.

I bet they’re close with someone we haven’t even heard mentioned yet. They’re not daft they’ve known it’s what we’ve needed since the start of the summer.

I think they're set on Lucemi being the top target and it's just taking a little longer than they planned.

I've no idea who the second one will be though. Bade doesn't feel realistic.

This is where it all becomes too 'Football Manager' for my liking tbh.

Sunderland can't simply force players to move countries and play on the NE coast just because they need someone in that position ...

... they're very wealthy human beings with families and friends with the free will to play in whichever country these choose.

I think people forget that.

Newcastle are one of the richest clubs on the planet but can't get players to come just because they snap their fingers ...

... people really need to wise up, this isn't a computer game.

Why are they a glaring weakness, Huggins is a quality player, Seelt has look decent aswell when he's been fit

Huggins far too overhyped mind. What has he done to make him a quality player?
Hes nearly 25 and played less than 30 league games in his career. And hes been injured for about 18 month

he would be coming up against bowen on the opening day who is a real quality player. Would worry me tbh
