In their search for a fourth experienced center-back, Bayer Leverkusen once again have Loic Badé as a candidate. However, the club is unlikely to be willing to pay anything close to the €30m fee Bournemouth reportedly agreed.

Leverkusen out?
One thing abouy bade, hes out injured for a few more weeks, can we afford to be waiting till he recovers and then is match fit?

With our start we need a cb ready to go for the first game, ideally to play this weekend imo

they really think the players they have listed would make a player care
Keeping with the theme of a few of the posts above, a better second paragraph would be for them to be able to say 'look at how we've developed Isak and facilitated his move to the League Winners and one of the favourites for the Champions League' - it would be a better selling point to Sesko and how they would be able to continue to grow and improve.

As it is, they've blown any chance of that by just simply being pretty dumb all round as a club.

OH MY
I don’t trust it

German clubs intimated foreign clubs through the media

if a German club is buying they say the club won’t pay over X or won’t pay asking price

if a German club is selling they say the club won’t accept less than X

see Xhaka and Jobe for example

Is he injured or ‘injured’?

My heads just fell off at Stones not being good enough for us mind <laugh>

I think there's a certain type of football fan (my dad amongst them) who just couldn't adapt to the playing out from the back type of football that evolved under Pep and Stones is the most extreme version of that type. Loads of England fans used to love Maguire and dislike Stones, seeing it as a sort of old school versus new school defenders. I thought it was great to have skills that complimented each other.

I dont think hes played since he was injured against us

mind lets hope hes “injured” though id he signs!
Last thing we need to bringing in lads who won’t be up to speed for a month, sure it’ll all be taken into account though if we do decide to go for it

His attitude is commendable mind. It was exactly the same when the mags were chasing him last summer, none of this going on strike etc. I would like to see him move on to compete at the top end of the table he could progress and become a great option for England at CB.

He won't kick up a fuss, but he's also out of contract next summer and won't be signing a new one. He'll get the Liverpool move next year and pocket a few million himself in the process.

the headline looks really positive but the actual article says:

“However, a move to the newly promoted Premier League side is apparently out of the question for him. Badé would rather play in the Champions League next season, also to improve his chances for the national team. An option that Bayer 04 would offer the 1.91-meter-tall right-footer, even if the club is unlikely to pay anything close to €30 million in a transfer fee.”

not going to be an easy one but what a signing if we can pull it off.

that's typical German media though. They seem a bit like the Turks.

they were saying Leverkusen wouldnt sell Xhaka and that he wanted to stay etc

He’s a right little knacker that ****er. Tries so hard to emphasise being a Geordie and embarrassed himself so much over the Isak saga. They genuinely think these foreign players are born again Geordies who have unconditional love for their fanbase and city, as if they wouldn’t piss off at the first chance when a big club comes calling.

I don't think I buy into him being managed back. He played full halfs earlier in pre season for the "second 11" and has been on the bench when other players who are being carefully managed have been off the bench.

I think that's PR considering he was unused in the last game. He wouldn't have been on the bench.
